TOTAL FREEDOM 1

John 8:36
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. [NKJV]

After giving her life to Christ, it appeared Chinyere was still enslaved to certain sins. She tried to break free, but the best she got was three weeks break. As she continued to follow the teachings of the Lord, she realized that the word of God started changing her from within. She decided to now fully live her life according to the word of God, and this was how she came to the knowledge of the truth. She started seeing life differently and her mind became renewed. She also realized that she could no longer fellowship with her old friends. Unknown to her, they had a very great influence in her life. One thing she started realizing was that unlike before, she now had a choice whether to walk in sin or not. This was a choice that she knew she did not have before. She was now free from the slavery of sin.

In today’s Bible text, what Jesus was primarily talking about was sin. He wants you to know that He is the only one who can truly save you from the power of sin. You may have tried all kinds of methods to break free from the slavery of sin but to no avail. Total freedom is in Christ alone and this freedom comes when you decide to be His disciple by living your life according to His word.

Go into today knowing that if you are a disciple of Christ, sin no longer has dominion over you. Do not let the devil keep you in bondage by making you continue to think you are still a slave of sin.

Prayer confession: sin has no dominion over me. No power of darkness has any kind of dominion over me any more. In Jesus name. Amen.
