John 8:32 (KJV)
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Bolaji observed that in his family, every man was a chronic womanizer. His father left his mother for another woman because of this. His grandfather did the same, but only returned to his wife when he became very sick and his lovers deserted him. His father tried to return to his mother when he too became very sick, but his mother wouldn’t accept him back.

Even though Bolaji was born again and happily married, he observed that a feeling of discontentment towards his wife and a strong lust for other women started growing within his heart. It didn’t take him long to realize that the same demon that led his grandfather and father astray was now on his case. He knew this was a family curse when he started having symptoms of the same disease that killed his father and grandfather. He had prayed and fasted for many days, but as soon as his fasting ended, the lust came back.

The Lord revealed to him that he had to change his belief concerning certain things if he wanted to walk in spiritual liberty. His life and world-view was not shaped by the word of God because he wasn’t devoted to the ministry of the word enough.

Every believer in Christ has a heritage of blessings rather than curses (see Ephesians 1:3), and should walk in total freedom. But this freedom is appropriated through our knowledge of the truth. It was to those who believed in Him that Jesus said ‘you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free’ (see John 8:31-32).

Christ sets us free through our knowledge of the truth revealed by the word of God we know and believe. Those who still believe they are under ancestral curses, rather than believe God’s truth concerning them, never truly experience freedom.

Go into today changing what you believe according to the truth of God’s word concerning you.

Confession: I am filled with the knowledge of God’s will and walking in the blessing(see Col 1:9-10)

The Power of Fellowship

Devotional  Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1405

2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Biodun became really lonely because his friends had left him. He was now ‘too born again’ for them and the only friend who didn’t leave stayed around because of Biodun’s money, and Biodun knew this. Biodun decided that it was time to make new friends, but he found that he wasn’t flowing with many of the brethren he had met. They saw life quite differently.

He decided to pray about this: he asked the Lord to link him with people who would help him grow. The next morning he went to church, the minister preached on evangelism. He encouraged everyone in the church to be actively involved in making disciples. Biodun knew that that message was for him. He decided that he was going to make disciples for the Lord according to His command (Matt 28:19). The first day he left his house to evangelize in his neighborhood; he met some youth corps members and evangelized to them. Three among them believed. They were honored to be close to Biodun because he was a very successful person. Biodun scheduled Bible study meeting with them and they all came promptly. They also came with their friends.

They would pick a (Watchman Nee or Kenneth Hagin, etc.) book and read certain chapters, and they would discuss it in their Bible study meetings (there was always food at the Bible study). Many of them had questions. And if the questions were difficult for Biodun to answer, they would go to church to ask their pastor.

Your faith, as a believer thrives in the community of believers. Fellowship is very important in Christianity (Acts 2:42). We thrive in fellowship and community, that’s the way God designed it. Even God exists in a community--the Trinity.

If you find yourself in a place where there are no disciples of Christ for you to fellowship with, make disciples (Mark 16:15, Mark 28:19).

Prayer: Lord please give me the grace to make disciples everywhere you place me. Amen.

The Double Minded Person 2

Devotional  Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1404

2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

When it became clear to Biodun that he was unstable spiritually because his friends were unbelievers, he decided he was going to leave them. This was a very difficult thing for him to do because he and his friends were very close. But Biodun knew he would never grow spiritually if he continued with his old friends.

He decided that his identity in Christ was now going to determine the flow of all his conversations and relationships. This was also hard to do, but he remembered that he was a new creature and old things have passed away (2 Cor 5:17). He remembered that he now had a new citizenship in heaven and was to be defined by this citizenship (Phil 3:20). He also remembered that nothing was too big to forsake for the sake of Christ and the Kingdom.

As his conversation changed and it became clear to his friends that the old Biodun was now dead, many of them were the ones who left. They were not interested in being friends with this new Biodun.

Many believers find it hard to leave their old friends and old life because they do not realize that what they have in Christ is far better. And in order to experience the new life, the old life has to die. For except a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone. But when it dies, germinates and grows, it becomes much better than a lowly dying grain.

Go into today remembering that in order for you to experience the new great life in Christ, the old life of sin has to die.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to remove everything hindering your light from shinning.

Discerning The Body of Christ

Get Today's Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1771

1 Corinthians 11:29-30 (KJV)
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

Freda was so sick that it was clear to her that she might die. She had walked in divine health and healing before but did not understand why this time, the sickness did not seem to respond to her prayers.
Through the ministry of a prophet, she discovered that she was afflicted because of the way she failed to discern the Lord’s body. She was an expert at publicly bringing down, criticizing and condemning ministers of the gospel she perceived were airing in one way or another. She did not realize that even though some of the ministers she criticized were wrong, her methods and approach was unacceptable.

Children of God don’t rejoice and publicly criticize matters that are a source of grief to the Lord. We don’t take our disputes to the public space and bring down one another. We are not allowed as brethren to take our disputes to public court before unbelievers (see 1 Corinthians 6:1). Why do some think we can take our matters as brethren to the public court of opinions?

Christ is the head, the Church is His body. When any part of the body is sick or in pain, other parts of the body may not feel it, but the head does.

But when other parts rejoice when the head is in pain, it is because they do not rightly discern the body, and may in effect disconnect themselves from that which the head supplies.

No individual part of the body can effectively continue to function without the other parts of the body. Likewise, no believer can be effective without other believers. It is suicidal to think that you are good enough as a ministry without the other ministries.

We may differ in our denominations of worship, gifts, offices, and approaches, but if we have the same Lord, we are all brethren and we should walk with this knowledge.

Go into today knowing that to be a true ambassador of Christ, you must live by the words of Christ in 1 Corinthians 12:26 “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.”

The Double-Minded Person

Devotional the Audio version here ☞ http://bit.ly/aud1402

James 1:7-8 (NET)
For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord, since he is a double-minded individual, unstable in all his ways.

Biodun observed that he would be full of faith in one moment, but would be totally faithless in the next. Just like the waves of the sea that rises and falls, his faith in God rose and fell because he was still controlled by his flesh, even though he was sometimes controlled by the Spirit. He found out that his weakness was coming from his unequal yoke with unbelievers.

Faith is spiritual, but unbelief is fleshly. Whenever you are dominated by the Spirit, you will walk by faith. But if you fall back to the flesh, you will walk by sight and not by faith.

The problem with a double-minded person is that this state of heart affects every area of his life. He would behave like Christ today but would act like an unbeliever tomorrow.
Because the righteousness of God is revealed by faith (Rom 1:17), if a person's faith is unstable, he would constantly swing from walking in righteousness to walking in the flesh. He may have to resort to legalism in order to keep the outward show of righteousness and may find it more convenient to stay in legalism that produces inferior human [born] righteousness that counts as filthy rags before God.

In the spirit realm, man's clothing is righteousness (Isaiah 60:10). He is either clothed in the glorious garment of God's righteousness or clothed in the filthy garment of iniquity or his own righteousness. No one appears before God and receives from Him wearing filthy rags. He must first receive a change of garment (see Zech 3:3-5) and keep it on by faith.

Go into today remembering that consistent believing is the way to receive from God. One way unbelief enters is when we are unequally yoked together with unbelievers (2 Cor 6:14).

Prayer: Lord, please break every limiting yoke of unbelief in my life. Amen.

What is Man

Download Audio Version Here☞ bit.ly/aud2100

Hebrews 2:6-9 (NET)
Instead someone testified somewhere: “What is man that you think of him or the son of man that you care for him? You made him lower than the angels for a little while. You crowned him with glory and honor. You put all things under his control.” For when he put all things under his control, he left nothing outside of his control. At present we do not yet see all things under his control, but we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience death on behalf of everyone.

The way today's Bible verse started is quite unusual because normally when New Testament writers quote Old Testament writers,  it usually would go like this:

Romans 11:9 (NET)  And David says, “Let their table become a snare and trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them.
But that's not the case here. The Psalm from which the quote in Hebrews 2:6 above was taken is attributed to David(Psalm 8),  and I'm sure the writer of Hebrews knew this very well,  but he is saying here that 'someone testified somewhere'.  This is quite unusual. There is no other place in the New Testament that uses this language in reference to Old Testament scripture.

Some have asserted that the quote is not credited to men but to angels, that it was a conversation between angels that was captured by the psalmist through the spirit of prophecy.

Maybe that's why the writer of Hebrews didn't attribute the quote to David but said "someone testified somewhere". Thinking about it critically,  it makes sense for angels to be asking this all-important question: "[w]hat is Man?"
Seeing the way God (the creator and sustainer of all things) is mindful of man,  it is an all-important question.

The way to decode scripture is with scripture and not with human worldly reasoning. If you read Psalm 8:4-6,  and now read today's Bible verses,  your understanding of Psalms 8:4-6 will be broader and much more accurate.

In today's Bible verses,  we see the progression of the experiences of man. Man was made lower than the angels (this was because of the fall). But Man would be crowned with glory and honor, and God would put all things under man's control.  But today,  we do not yet see all things under man's control, but we see Jesus,  who is a man,  crowned with glory and honor. Today, Jesus is the only man with this stature of glory and honor,  but during the resurrection,  all His saints would receive this stature-- that includes you and me,  if we hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess,  for the One who made the promise is trustworthy (see Hebrews 10:23).

Jesus is the only hope and lifeline through which Man can fulfill his eternal destiny of ruling over the universe with God.  He is the only man that has overcome the powers that hinder Man from fulfilling his glorious destiny, and through Him, we who believe in Him are overcomers.

Go into today remembering that those who believe in [and abide in] Christ would get to fulfill man's glorious eternal destiny. This destiny is so glorious that human communication is not suitable enough to describe it (see 1 Corinthians 2:9).

Prayer: Thank you Lord for Your great plans for me. Please help me walk in them and please you in all things. Amen.

He Who Has the Son Has Eternal Life

Download Audio Version Here☞ bit.ly/aud2099

John 3:15(KJV) That whosoever believeth in him should not  perish, but have eternal life

Eternal life is the life inherent in God. It is the very life of God, the very nature and essence of God. God gives this life to those who believe in [and receive] Christ Jesus. It is deposited in our spirits the moment we accept Jesus. We do not have to wait until we get to heaven before we begin to experience [the realities of] eternal life. No! Rather, we have it here and now and God expects us to allow this life to find expression in and through us, so much that whatever we do or touch receives life (Jn1:4).

John 17:3 says, ''And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent''. Knowledge and understanding of who we are and whose we are will enable the believer to live a victorious life. If this life is already deposited in our spirit then we must consciously walk in the knowledge of this life for it to profit us. The more of God's word we put in our spirit and the more we interphase with God in prayers, the more we allow this life to permeate our souls and bodies, flow out easily and swallow up all that doesn't emanate from God (see John 7:38).

Go into today knowing that you have eternal life and this life gives life to everything around you.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to grant you the grace to live in the consciousness of this life daily so that it would find expression.

Dealing With So-Called gods 2

Download Audio Version Here: bit.ly/aud1767

Luke 10:19 (KJV)
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Amaka grew up in a community where everyone was afraid of the gods because certain things had happened in the past to invoke such fear.

After Amaka accepted the Lord Jesus and started becoming discipled in the way of the truth, one truth that took time for her to fully understand was that the gods in her town did not have any power over her; that she was raised with Christ far above them and all principalities and powers(see Ephesians 2:6, 1:21).

One evening, as she was going to fellowship, she mistakenly stepped on a Charm dropped on the ground. Normally, if anyone steps on such, they would become fatally ill if they didn’t do certain rituals. But as soon as she stepped on that charm, she knew the power behind it was destroyed. Nothing bad happened to her and she never did any ritual. This sign was the reason her mother became converted.

Amaka observed that as she submitted more and more to the authority of Christ [over her], she found it more and more difficult to believe that the gods in the land had any power. As far as she was concerned, all authority belongs to Christ(Matthew 28:18), and anyone exercising any form of spiritual authority does so illegally and she had the authority to cast out every such demon by the legal authority of Christ. This she did.

One reason some believers do not walk in authority over demons is because they are still afraid of them, and as long as this is the case, fear will hinder the faith required to exercise authority over demons.

Go into today remembering that Christ has given you the authority to trample over all the power of the enemy.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to teach you to walk in this authority.

The Eternal Government 2

Download Audio Version Here☞ bit.ly/aud2098
Hebrews 2:5 (KJV)  For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

After Oyemade told his brethren about the threats from the people who wanted him to join their secret cults, they prayed together and agreed that he was to continue with the political race. He was thinking of leaving the race before because he understood that we believers would still reign over this earth when the Lord returns, but when it became clearer that his major opponent was an antichrist liberal whose agenda was to implement certain anti-Christ liberal policies, he was emboldened to continue in the race. Two months to the election, he was having a prayer walk in his compound at night when someone appeared to him through the back fence wall. Oyemade noticed that the man that appeared to him was surprised that he wasn't afraid but rather spoke in tongues and commanded him to get out of his compound. Apparently, the man came to scare him out of the race, but Oyemade didn't give the man the benefit of even speaking before he exercised authority over him-- he vanished in terror.

In spite of the opposition from the kingdom of darkness, Oyemade won the election and was able to stifle the tide of antichrist liberal policies in his city.

The reason Oyemade could win that election against the will of the prince of this world (and his principalities) was because he too was a functional prince in God's eternal kingdom and he used the superior authority of the Kingdom to conquer on the earth. Every true believer is a prince in God's kingdom, but many are not functioning in their capacity because of spiritual ignorance and laziness.

Many believers who get to the high places in this world and become overpowered fail because they do not surround themselves with the right people and the right systems. A believer representing Christ in the high places of this world (media and entertainment, big business, government, politics, etc) must be as committed to prayer and the word as an apostle at the forefront of missionary work in hostile places.

Daniel is a good example. He was so committed to prayer(see Daniel 6:10) that even his enemies took notice. David is another good example of a man that succeeded in fulfilling God's purposes in the high places of this world. He too was a man committed to prayer and the word. He prayed in the evening, morning and afternoon every day (Psalm 55:17). He prayed and meditated on God's word at night (Psalm 119:148). He had men of God around him who were not dazzled by his earthly greatness. Nathan could bring a message of stern rebuke from the Lord to King David and he would repent (see 1Samuel 12:1-14).

Those who would be witnesses for Christ in the high places of this world must realize that they are there for God's kingdom agenda, not for themselves. They must rid themselves of the love of money and always remember that they have the backing of God's Eternal government that rules over everything.

Prayer: Lord, give me the strength to stand for you in the high places of this world. Amen.

The Eternal Government 1

Audio Version Here☞ bit.ly/aud2097
Hebrews 2:5 (KJV)  For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

Oyemade was quite sure that he had his political game plan perfectly worked out. It was going to be easy for him to get elected as mayor of the city,  even though he was a minority. As the election day was getting closer,  and it was becoming clearer and clearer that Oyemade's party was going to win the election,  Oyemade started getting strange invitations from people he never knew existed. Because the mayoral seat in his city was very important (his city was so strategic and important),  everyone was interested in who sat on that seat.
Oyemade started getting veiled threats. He started getting invitations to join "powerful" secret societies. One of his closest allies told him that "boss if you don't join them,  they won't let you win this election".

The aspiration for such a great political office made it clearer to Oyemade and his brethren that indeed,  the systems of this current world are ruled by Satan the prince of this world (see John 14:20, 1 John 5:9, Ephesians 6:12, 2 Corinthians 4:4).

In this current world order,  if you go high enough in most systems,  you would interface with the devil. He is the ruler of this present world. The only people that can truly contend his authority on this earth are the sons of God: believers in Christ Jesus who are no longer [spiritual] babes but sons. They can contend territorial authority out of the hand of the prince of this world because their Lord has received 'all authority in heaven and on earth' (see Matthew 28:18).

This current world system is under the subjection of angels. The prince of this world(Satan) is an angel (a fallen angel),  and so are his principalities that rule territories in this present world.
But from today's verse,  we see that this will not be the case in the world to come.

One very important component of the gospel message we preach is the second coming of Jesus,  the resurrection of the dead,  and the coming rule and reign of Christ (with the saints) over the earth, and over all things (see 1 Corinthians 15, 6:1-3, Philippians 3:20, Revelations 21:7).

This current world system is in its last days (see Hebrews 1:1-2, Acts 2:17). The devil knows that his time is short and that all authority has now been given to Jesus who will return and take over the governments of this earth, so he is more desperate than ever. The kingdom of this world will literally become the kingdom of our God and of His Christ,  and we [His saints] shall reign on the earth (Revelation 5:10, 11:15, 20:4).

Go into today remembering that the world[order] to come will not be under the subjection of angels but under the subjection of man, ruled by the man Jesus Christ.
With this sure expectation in your heart,  walk in this present world with the authority of Christ and remember to lay for yourself treasure that will have value in the worlds to come (Matthew 6:19-21).

Prayer: Lord,  help me walk in the fullness of your plan for my life. Deliver me from the distractions of this present world that is passing away and help me fulfill your plan for my life. Amen.

Are You Faithful?

Download Audio Version Here☞ bit.ly/aud1397

1 Corinthians 4:5 (NLT)
“So be careful not to jump to conclusions before the Lord returns as to whether or not someone is faithful. When the Lord comes, He will bring our deepest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. And then God will give to everyone whatever praise is due.”

Faithfulness is one of God’s chief characteristics. It refers primarily to His reliability in keeping His promises. Faithfulness also stands as the hallmark of the life of the Christian, as we imitate the faithfulness of Christ. God wants us to be people who are dependable and capable of being trusted. God is faithful and rewards faithfulness.

But, you see, faithfulness is becoming a rare commodity in our generation. Many pulpits are manned by men who are unfaithful to their wives; many civil servants are unfaithful to their employer-the government; many politicians are unfaithful to the people who voted them to power. If you are not faithful to your wife, husband, employer, employee, neighbor or even the government, you can’t be faithful to your God.

From today’s passage, we see that faithfulness is contingent on what we do when nobody is around. This is what God looks at in rewarding faithfulness. My question for you today is: do you have deep secrets which when brought to light would make you bow your head in shame? Or do you have private motives which if revealed would make people run away from you? If you do, then you are not a faithful person in the eye of God. Deal with those secret sins or they will deal with you later on. Remember that the Lord Jesus will return one day to reward those who will remain faithful to the end (see 1 Corinthians 4:5).

Prayer: Pray that the Lord will help you to remain faithful to Him and to everyone around you.

God Confirms His Word 2

Audio Version Here☞ bit.ly/aud2096
Hebrews 2:3-4 (KJV)
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

From when he was a child,  Julius knew that there was the call of God upon his life for him to become a minister of the gospel. After receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, there were certain remarkable spiritual gifts in his life, and as he gave himself steadfastly to prayer and fasting, these spiritual gifts became heightened. Unfortunately,  Julius didn't give himself much to the ministry of the word.

When he felt the time had come for him to launch into the ministry,  he started prayer meetings and gathered large crowds because of the spectacular spiritual gifts in his life. The ministry was built on his spiritual gifts and not the Word. Because there was no word for him to teach the people,  he was always under pressure to move in spiritual gifts even when the Spirit was not moving. Because of this, he eventually had to resort to gimmicks and tricks in order to meet the expectation of the insatiable crowd.

Julius missed it in ministry because he failed to realize that signs and wonders, miracles, and gifts of the spirit are given by God as a confirmation of our witnesses for Christ. Witnesses for Christ do so by bearing the message of the gospel accurately.

Signs and wonders are a confirmation by God of the message of the gospel. The message is the priority, not signs and wonders. Ministers who change this order will inevitably find themselves in the kind of mess that Julius found himself.

Go into today remembering that God gives the manifestation of the supernatural to confirm your witness of Christ. Spiritual gifts are given to confirm the message of the gospel that your life and doctrine preaches. Every minister should "[s]tudy to shew [himself] approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you to serve Him accurately. Ask the Lord to help you build on the foundation of Christ and built accurately so that your work will not be burnt away on judgment day(See 1 Corinthians 3:13-15).
"Lord, Help me that on that day,  I will receive your commendation, not your rebuke. Amen."

The Rest

Download Today's Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1394

Hebrews 4:10-11 (KJV)
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Let us LABOUR therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Question: pastor, I read yesterday's Devotional and I totally agree that repentance is a work of faith. What if after repenting you find that there are still some stubborn habits and sins that refuse to leave you. What do you do?

Thank you for this very practical question.

When a person repents of his sins, it means he determines not to go back to them again. But if it happens that there is a besetting sin that easily entangles, the believer needs to wait on the Lord and receive strength to overcome it consistently.

The way to this is looking unto Jesus (see Heb 12:1-2). The psalmist puts it this way: I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken (Psalm 16:8).

What weights (and the sin that easily entangles) try to do is to shake you, but walking in the Spirit is the way to put to death the works of the flesh (Roms 8:13, Gal 5:16). Walk daily in the consciousness of the Lord's presence within you.

People pray and fast and apply much force when they perceive that there is a demonic assault against them, but they should devote much more spiritual energy to overcome sin. They should labor to enter into God's rest, a place where they no longer struggle with the flesh. (Read Matt 6:33, Matt 11:12).

Go into today remembering that Seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness (not yours) means seeking to enter the place of rest where you no longer struggle with the flesh because grace has taken over your life. Here it becomes easier for you to walk in the spirit than to walk in the flesh.

God Confirms His Word

Get Today's Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2095
Hebrews 2:3-4 (NKJV)
3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,
4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

Shade had a hard time discerning false prophets from true ones. She observed that some of the false prophets had become very smart by embracing 'holiness' doctrines.
But she had a personal encounter with one of such holiness preachers and realized he was as greedy and filthy as the rest.
She also realized that most of the false prophets were not interested in winning souls for the Lord, they were only interested in the money.

We can see from today's Bible verses that salvation was first preached by the Lord Jesus Himself,  and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him (His disciples who echoed His gospel).
In Matthew 9:35 and Luke 8:1, we see that the Lord Jesus went to different towns and villages teaching and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. We also see that His disciples did the same. Many wonder what gospel message Jesus and the Apostles preached since  Jesus was not yet crucified? Well,  Jesus preached the message of salvation. What makes a person receive eternal salvation is believing that Jesus is Lord(the Christ of God, the messiah). Even before Jesus died on the cross,  people were being saved through believing in Him.
We see in Luke 19:9 that Jesus said salvation had come to the house of Zacchaeus [because he believed in Him].

Before and after His death and resurrection,  believing that Jesus is Lord was the key to salvation. The resurrection was God's token proof that Jesus is Lord. The Jews crucified Him because He said He was the Christ (the Son of God, the King of the Jews). But God raised Him up on the third day as proof that He is indeed the Christ (Lord,  Anointed One,  the Messiah). The gospel we preach today now includes this vital truth— that God raised Jesus from the dead (see Romans 10:9).

In John 4, we are given a rare peek into the content of the gospel message that Jesus preached while He walked the streets of Israel. We see Jesus preaching to the Samaritan woman,  and their conversation headed up to Him revealing to her that He is the Messiah(see John 4:25-26). The woman believed in Him and even invited others to come and see the Christ (see John 4:29).

Whether then,  or when the Apostles preached,  or today,  the gospel message has been about bringing people to receive the Lordship of Christ Jesus. People who receive the gospel live under the Lordship of Christ. That's why they repent of their old ways that do not align with life under Christ's government.

Go into today remembering that God confirms His gospel with signs and wonders,  miracles and gifts of The Spirit.
The next time you want to discern whether a prophet is false or not,  look at the fruits of his ministry (Matthew 7:16). Is he raising people whose allegiance is to Christ (this shows by their lives of submission to the Lordship of Christ) or is he raising people whose true allegiance is to him and to mammon?

Prayer: Heavenly Father,  please help me be a true minister of your salvation. Stretch out your hand to confirm your word in life with signs and wonders,  miracles and gifts of the Spirit, In Jesus' name. Amen.

Joseph's Bones

Get Today's Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2093

Genesis 50:24-25(NET): Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die. But God will surely come to you and lead you up from this land to the land he swore on oath to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Joseph made the sons of Israel swear an oath. He said, “God will surely come to you. Then you must carry my bones up from this place.”

There is an assurance that God's word must birth in you. Such assurance that makes the reality of what it says so real that everything else in comparison pales. This is God's desire for every believer.

Joseph had attained royalty in Egypt but yet, he never lost sight of the promise of God. He said to his brethren, SURELY God will come, God will lead you out of this land, and God will lead you into the land He promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Anyone can follow when physical evidences abound - The Israelites who perished in the wilderness are proof of that. They ate manna, ate quails, saw the Red sea part, walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, yet, they never truly believed God.

Not so Joseph. He basically said to them, "God will do what he said he will do, to show how much I believe that, take my body with you when you leave here"

Make the meditation of God's word of utmost importance. Have a posture of mind that receives God's word as an immutable revelation and not some divine opinion. Build yourself on your most holy faith. Then you will take God's word as truth.

A man who sees God's word as truth will order his life according to God's word. The voice of God, as spoken by the word, will be sharp and clear in his heart even in the midst of the deafening din of this world's counsel.

Are you ordering your life according to God's word or are your cowering to this world's counsel? Abide in God and let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Help me order my life according to your truth and be fruitful in all things. Amen.

The Glorious New Covenant

Get Today's Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2093
Hebrews 2:2-43(NET) For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty, how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first communicated through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him

Mr. Ade had many safes in his house where he kept a lot of money and treasure. Some of the head servants in the house had the password to access them. But there was this one safe in his bedroom that no servant in the house but only he and his children had the access to. He would come and open it himself because of how important that safe was. It contained great treasures and the documents that controlled his entire estate.

Cornelius was a good and God-fearing man. Because of this,  God wanted him to be a partaker of His new [and most powerful] covenant, so God sent an angel to him. But the angel did not have the security clearance to preach the gospel to him,  so the angel gave him directions on how to reach Peter and invite him to share the gospel with his household (see Acts 10).

Everyone who is involved in the propagation of the gospel is a minister of the New Covenant (see 2 Corinthians 3:6). This is the most awesome privilege it the entire universe. Even the angels long to look into the things pertaining to the new covenant (see 1 Peter 1:12).

While angels were qualified to be ministers of the old covenant,  they are not qualified to be ministers of the new covenant. That's how much greater the new covenant is compared to the old.

One reason The book of Hebrews was written was to show the Hebrew believer how superior the new covenant is to the old (since they were people used to the old covenant). It shows how Jesus the mediator of the new covenant is superior,  how the priesthood of the new covenant is superior, how the articles of the new covenant is superior, how the scale of the new covenant is eternal, and how the old was actually a shadow of the new, etc. (see Hebrews 8:6, 13, etc)

No matter how wonderful a thing is,  if the people that have it do not appreciate its value,  they would not maximize its benefits. I have seen believers act in ways that show that they somehow believe that the old covenant of the Jews is superior to the new covenant of the believer in Christ. What a tragedy!

Indeed, the old covenant is powerful and glorious. Because of it,  the Jewish race is one of the most materially prosperous on the earth today.  But the new covenant is a great great upgrade of the old. All the great promises and blessings in the old covenant can be appropriated in the new,  and much more(see 2 Corinthians 1:20). In the new covenant,  we don't just get to inherit earthly benefits, we inherit and partake of eternal riches in the eternal kingdom. Our current minds are too small to grasp the scale of our eternal riches and greatness in Christ through the new covenant. And the good news is that the new covenant is received by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. It is not received as a result works so that no one can boast. It is the gift of God (See Ephesians 2:8-9).

Go into today celebrating and giving thanks for the privilege to be a partaker of the new covenant. If you are not yet saved, you can click here to accept the Lord Jesus and become a partaker of the glorious new covenant streamglobe.org/33

Prayer: Ask the Lord to open the eyes of your understanding so that you may know the riches of your inheritance in Him and walk accordingly (Ephesians 1:18).

Lay Hold On Eternal Life

Get Today's Audio☞ bit.ly/aud2092

Hebrews 2:1 (NET)  Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

Nonye had believed in the Lord since when she was on campus,  but it now appeared that her faith in the Lord was waning. Years ago,  she believed in divine healing, enjoyed it and even ministered it to others,  but she was now doubting if she could be healed supernaturally. She decided that she was no longer just going to let her life go by, but was going to "[f]ight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life" (1 Timothy 6:2). She determined to be more deliberate about her spiritual growth. She took a break and went on a three-day retreat in which she basically prayed and read faith-building books- the ones she used to read ten years ago when she was spiritually on fire. During the retreat,  her fire was rekindled and she started walking at a higher level of faith. She was so engrossed in God's word that she did not remember to worry about the disease that was troubling her. Many days passed and she found that she was now totally healed.

The kingdom of God allows violence,  and the violent take it by force(see Matthew 11:12). Many times,  if believers are not deliberate and violently intentional about their spiritual growth,  they may just find that their faith is waning, and they are being cheated by the devil daily.

Naturally speaking,  after we have learned and understood something, we tend to keep it aside and go for the next new thing. That is not the way the word of faith should be handled.  We must pay closer attention to what we have heard before so that it does not slip away(Hebrews 2:1). Every word that has ever become Rhema to you should become your daily bread. Not an occasional menu.

Go into today remembering to fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on the realities of your divine(eternal) life daily. Remember that our weapon is the word of God (see Ephesians 6:17).

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me walk in an increasing measure of your grace daily. Amen.

Marriage and Integrity

Get Today's Audio☞ bit.ly/aud1757

1 Corinthians 7:1-2 (KJV)
Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

Before the epistle of First Corinthians was written, some members of the church at Corinth wrote a letter to Apostle Paul asking certain questions. They wanted to know if they were permitted to get married as unmarried men and women who now believed in the Lord Jesus. They wanted also to know if those married to unbelievers could remain with their spouses even if their spouses did not believe.
Today’s Bible verses address the first question the Corinthians raised. Apostle Paul makes it clear here that even though celibacy is a good thing, sexual immorality is a bad thing and marriage helps to avoid it.

One of the strongest attributes of God that His children inherit is His integrity (Psalm 15:4). God even exalts His word above His name (Psalm 138:2), that’s how much a Person of integrity our God is. Marriage adds the layer of integrity into the reasons why a believer must flee all sexual immorality. If a married person commits immorality, he not only sins against God and his body but sins against his wife and breaks his integrity.

Some have taught that celibacy is a secret to spiritual power. That could be true for some inferior form of spiritual power, but God’s power doesn’t work that way. The only reason in the word of God why unmarried people can serve God better is because a married man would have to be concerned about the things of this world—how to please his wife.
But marriage becomes a big plus to ministry when one marries the right person who would help him/her fulfill his divine mandate.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you marry the right person who would help you fulfill your divine destiny.

If you are married, ask the Lord to help you and your spouse help each other fulfill destiny.

The Fear of The Lord

Download the Audio: bit.ly/dev2091

Philippians 2:12 (KJV)
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
One of the most painful things is having to deal with believers who have no integrity. Some so-called believers are outright frauds, but they profess the name of Christ and are even decorated members of big church congregations.
Many professing believers now walk unrepentantly in iniquity and claim that they are under grace. What delusion!

Because of this,  the name of our Lord is blasphemed among unbelievers (Romans 2:24). And it is becoming harder and harder for certain people [who reason critically] to come to the light of Christ because of the filthy shadow cast by lukewarm believers everywhere.

Growing up as a child,  I remember that the church in my country was not as wealthy and large as it is today,  but it was much more powerful. True conversions to the faith by even those who were the biggest antagonists were commonplace. The name of the Lord was more revered and honored even in the media. No comedians dared mention the name of the Lord or make a caricature of his ministers(something that has become too common today).
But some things changed along the way and everyone now felt comfortable in church with unrepentant hearts. The fear of the Lord was skillfully and gradually removed from the Christian creed. All of a sudden,  believers no longer walked in the fear of the Lord.
Foolishness now became celebrated in the organized church because politicians who are known thieves were given titles in the church. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom(Prov 9:10). To fear the Lord less and less is the beginning of foolishness.

Some have argued that believers should not fear the Lord but only have 'reverential awe' towards Him because He is our heavenly father. Some have argued that today's Bible verse was not properly translated,  that we are to work out our salvation with 'reverential awe' towards God,  not with fear. The problem with this view is that reverential awe does not invoke trembling. But the verse clearly says "work out your salvation with fear and trembling". Believe me, whatever it is that awaits believers who do not obey this command (to work out their salvation) is something that should be terribly feared and dreaded by anyone.

It is time for the fear of God to return to His people everywhere because when God comes to judge the world,  it would begin at the household of God (1 Peter 4:17).
May we not be found wanting. May we not be cast away after laboring in God's house.

Go into today praying with this verse:
1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV)  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Faithful in Unrighteous Mammon

Get Today's Audio:  bit.ly/aud1755

Luke 16:11 (KJV)
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Ekene worked in his boss’s shop where he served as an apprentice. He often added to the price of the goods sold and stole from his boss so that he could make some extra money. He did this all through his years as an apprentice and was never caught. After he had finished his apprenticeship, he began his personal business, but he never prospered. He became so frustrated that he sought help from his pastor. By prophecy, his pastor told him about how he had been an unfaithful apprentice; and told him what to do if he wanted his lot to change.

Luke 16:12 (KJV), “And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?”

Before God commits true riches to your hands, he will first of all test your faithfulness with the unrighteous mammon (money). For Ekene, he had to work under a boss. For you, it may be managing the finance of a little group such as a church, family and even your personal earnings, for example, tithing, offering, giving to others and how you spend money, etc. When you are unfaithful with the little at hand, you will not receive the much that is desired.

Luke 16:10 (KJV), “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”

If you desire the true riches of the kingdom, you must learn to be faithful in the unrighteous mammon (money), because, except you are found worthy of trust, God will not entrust you with the riches of His kingdom which includes earthly wealth.

Go into today knowing that God is willing to give you true riches. However, you must forsake all your unrighteous ways of seeking money.
Prayer: Lord, help me walk in your true riches and living above all limitations. Amen.

Who Shall Separate Us?

Download the Audio: bit.ly/aud2090
Romans 8:35-37 (KJV)
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

One attribute of the first and second-century believers that I have always admired in awe was their ability to stand for Christ in the midst of the harshest persecution. Theirs was a generation of believers that knew that accepting the Lord Jesus would be signing up for diverse persecution and hostility from even their own government. But they were resolute, and they overcame. By the end of the second century AD, the church had covered the known world. Idol worship in Europe and Asia Minor were now a thing of the past. (This was before the corruption of the church in the following centuries).

One thing was quite clear in their attitude. They were resolute to stand for Christ and love Him in spite of whatever would come their way.
Verses like today's verses were their anthem and pledge. Persecution was not going to stop them from loving God.

Please understand that today's Bible verse is actually saying 'nothing would stop us from loving God': not persecution, or famine,  or nakedness, or peril, etc.

Go into today remembering that God has loved us with an everlasting love. This love made Him make the ultimate sacrifice [of becoming flesh in order] to save us. Our only reasonable response would be to love God back(1 John 4:19). Remember that is is to those that love God that all things work together for their good. Great glory is reserved for those who love the Lord (see 1 Corinthians 2:9). We must never turn our backs on Him but remember that no matter what we face, we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. Overcoming is in our DNA.

Prayer: Lord, please help me to abide in your love. Amen.

Ask Believing

Download the Audio: bit.ly/aud2089

James 1:6-7 (NET) But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord
Damola asked the Lord to expand his business but was behaving in a way that proved that he was not really expecting his prayer to be answered. This was the reason he never received from the Lord. He was double-minded because his expectation was different from his request. He voiced his desire to God in prayer, but his expectation was the opposite.

What does it mean to ask in faith? It means asking, believing that you will receive what you have asked. It means after you ask for something, you expect it to happen, without a doubt. This means if you ask the Lord for something, you begin to prepare to receive it. You do not say 'I might receive it', you say 'I receive it'.

Asking in faith means your expectations and your desire are now one. You absolutely expect to receive what you have asked for.

God would not usually give us things that are against His will for us, so it is important for us to know His will through His word so that we may not ask amiss.

Go into today remembering that it is always God's will for you to walk in wisdom (Eph 5:17, Prov 8, Matt 10:16).

Prayer: Father, I ask that you help me know your will and pray according to it. Amen.

Justified By God 2

Download the Audio: bit.ly/aud2088

Romans 8:34 (NET)  Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died (and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.

In common law, there is something called 'stare decisis' which is the principle by which judges are bound to precedents. If an advocate can establish that a similar case with similar facts had been judged in the past, that judgment becomes a basis for the present judgment.

All that Job suffered was because the 'accuser of brethren' accused him before the throne of God. Satan asserted that the reason job feared God was because of the blessing of God in his life; that if the blessing and covering were to be removed,  Job would curse God to His face (Job 1:9-11).

Job suffered a great deal because of the accusations of Satan the accuser of brethren. But today,  we have the son of God speaking for us against the accusations of Satan. Through Job's [court] case, the point was made once and for all that the withdrawal of God's covering and blessing would not separate God's elect from His love(also see Romans 8:38-39). That legal precedent has already been set by Job's case and perfected by Christ Himself,  and because we have Christ as our advocate, the accuser cannot afflict us through the kind of accusation he used against Job or anyone else at that.

Human beings suffer many afflictions because of the accusations of Satan (It's a tragedy for a man not to have an advocate in that realm). There is nothing the devil can do on God's earth without God's permission (either express, inherited or implied). People’s sins are tokens of accusation with which the devil appropriates the license to afflict them. And since all have sinned,  all were under the bondage of the devil. But those who accept the Lord Jesus would receive His deliverance from sin and come under His covering. They are those for whom the Lord makes intercession. No one can bring a charge against them because it is God that justified them (see Romans 8:33).

Go into today remembering that the devil cannot bring any charge against you if you abide in Christ through faith in Him. Thank the Lord for saving you out of the dominion of the devil.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you walk in the fulness of the benefits of the redeemed life.

Be Filled With the Spirit

Download the Audio: bit.ly/aud2087

Ephesians 5:18 (KJV) And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.

Some days ago, I saw a man who was so drunk that he had lost control of his body; he staggered, sang, clapped and gesticulated as he tried to find his way home. Because that man was drunk with alcohol, I could easily observe the influence of alcohol over him?

Have you seen a man filled with the Holy Spirit before, what did you observe? The fruit of the Spirit, right?

You see, like a man under the influence of alcohol loses control of himself, so is a man under the influence of the Holy Spirit; he is unable to respond to the sinful desires of his flesh because he is under a greater influence, the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:16 (KJV) reads, ‘‘this I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.’’

If you find yourself responding so easily to the [sinful] desires of the flesh, it is a sign that you are not filled with the Holy Spirit at that moment. The wise thing to do would be to turn to your Heavenly Father and ask Him to fill you again (see Luke 11:11-13).

You see, to have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you is different from being filled with Him. When a cup is filled with water, it has no space left for other things, right? So, when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will have no space for the [control of the] flesh.

Go into today knowing that if you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, the lust of the flesh will fill the vacuum.

Pray like this, Father, help me to be filled with the Holy Spirit always,  in Jesus' name, amen.

The Eternal God is My Refuge 2

Download the Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud1381

Deuteronomy 33:27 (NLT) The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, 'Destroy them!'

There is a way most people feel when they have lots of money in the bank. This feeling is because money has the ability to be a refuge, and many people trust in it.

For the man that has made God his refuge, his feeling of security in Life comes from his knowledge of God. Such a person understands that 'underneath are the everlasting arms' of God.

Every human being in this world needs some form of refuge in life. Some trust in chariots and horses (Psalm 20:7). This means they trust in systems that they have put in place. They derive their feeling of security from the money that they have, and elaborate security arrangements. But those who trust in the Lord know better. They understand that anything that is not everlasting does not have the capacity to be a reliable refuge for man. They have made God their refuge, and they will never be put to shame.

Go into today thanking God because He is a refuge. Determine today to let your feeling of security be rooted in the integrity of God. This produces the faith required to receive the resources of heaven.

Prayer: thank you Father for being my refuge. I ask that you help me never waver in trusting you. Amen.
