Growing As A Baby

John 15:16 (NET) You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.
Moyin noticed that the rate at which Kemi received answers to her prayers was really remarkable. There was a day they were traveling together, and it was about to rain and disrupt the meeting they were going for. Moyin had prayed and prayed in her heart concerning the rain, but nothing happened and the rain started. As soon as she called Kemi to pray, while Kemi was still praying, the heavy rainfall reduced and eventually stopped miraculously.

There were many other examples of how Kemi received from the Lord more, and Moyin became concerned. ‘Does it mean that God loves Kemi more than me?’ Moyin would ask herself. She went into days of prayer to seek God’s face concerning why He didn’t answer her prayers the way He answered Kemi’s prayers. This was when the Lord showed her that Kemi was a much more fruitful Christian than her, that this was why Kemi had God’s ear.

We can see from today’s Bible text that when we are fruitful, we can ask and receive more expressly from the Father. Many Christians have fruitless prayer lives because other areas of their lives are fruitless before God.

A fruitful Christian is one whose life and character manifest the fruit of the Spirit. He is also one who wins souls to the kingdom of God. He is a profitable servant of the Lord who uses his resources [talents and gifts] for the advancement of God’s kingdom in this world.

Go into today remembering that when all is said and done, we will be rewarded according to our fruitfulness (see Rev 22:12, Matt 16:27, Rom 2:6).

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you become more fruitful.

The Fellowship of His Suffering

Audio Devotional & Bible Here☞ http://bit.ly/aud2223
2 Timothy 2:12-13 (KJV) If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

After Darrel read this Bible verse, he felt quite disturbed because all his life as a believer, he had never really been persecuted for his faith. He was born into a secular country where there was freedom of religion and no one was overtly persecuted for their faith. He thought within himself that 'does this mean I will not be counted among those who would reign with the Lord when He returns because I have never suffered for Him?'

While he meditated on this, the Holy Spirit helped him remember the times he had been mocked and sidelined in the office because he refused to compromise his faith. He remembered the times he felt alone and almost rejected because he accepted the Lord Jesus and his old friends now despised him. He also remembered the times he had the opportunity to make fast money but wouldn't because of his faith, and he looked like a fool to many(even so-called Christians). The Holy Spirit reminded him that while he went through all of that, the Lord was with Him to Comfort him, that was why he could go through such seasons and come out victorious.

In Philippians 3:10, Apostle Paul said: "that I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering..." There is a depth of knowledge of God that is accessed when we have gone through 'stuff' because of our faith in Christ.

I believe one reason why saints who overcome(see Revelation 3:21) have the destiny to sit on the throne of Christ with Him [and reign over all God's creation with Him] is that our fragile lives here on earth give us certain privileges to know God in ways that even angels might not be able to know Him. We have the privilege of being able to say "I suffered with Him".

You know that when you have a faithful friend you suffered with when things were tough, such a friend would have a special place in your heart, much more than the new friends you made when things became easy and abundant.

Go into today remembering that if you truly want to live for Christ and refuse to compromise your faith in this corrupt world, it will fight back. When the world fights back and you pass through unpleasantness that you normally wouldn't have faced if you were an unbeliever, that suffering you passed through because of your faith counts in heaven.

Prayer: Lord, help me know you more and walk more in your power. Amen.

Proverbs 4:23 (NET) Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Emotions are very powerful tools. This is because they usually start off as a signal of what we feel, but they don’t end there, left unchecked, they go on to create new feelings for us.

A man can become sad because he lost a huge amount of money to a Ponzi scheme, left unchecked, that sadness can morph into depression and suicidal thoughts. Likewise, a young lady can become unhappy because she suffered a heartbreak, left unchecked, that unhappiness can easily segue into strong hate and bitterness. Not all ‘emotions’ were designed by God; some are actually a result of the fall of man and are often a work of demons.

God never created depression; it serves no godly purpose. It is important to understand that emotions can shape how you think and act. People who act sometimes under the heavy influence of emotions do some highly irrational things and usually tag it as acting in a "moment of madness". That must not be the experience of a discipled believer.

We have heard of men who have in a fit of rage seriously hurt or maimed a loved one. Men have committed murder, women harm and damage their children and lovers inflict injuries upon one another under the influence of (often unchecked and overpowering) emotions.

Demons can take advantage of one’s emotion to promote ungodly actions and strong binds such as bitterness, depression, etcetera. The Bible, therefore, warns that we keep a sober watch over our hearts. Do you allow your emotions to determine your actions? Can you be trusted to act right even when you ‘feel’ wronged? Are you allowing your emotions to dictate and direct your thoughts?

Keep guard over your heart. Have and show emotion but do not allow emotions have you. Do not give demons license over your thoughts and feelings; we cast out demons not give in to them. You can be angry and sin not (Ephesians 4:26).

Jesus wept but did not stay weeping, with teary eyes he looked up into heaven and prayed after which he raised Lazarus (See John 11:35-44). He felt amazed by the lack of unbelief of his country home people and next went about teaching (See Mark 6:6), Paul and his companions were experiencing trouble on every side but were not crushed, perplexed but not driven to despair (2 Cor 4:8), that there is how we must be. Shaped by His word, our convictions, and faith and not by circumstances, experiences and emotions.

Go into today determined to allow your life be shaped and run by the power of God through His word and with the help of the Holy Spirit. Have emotions, but don’t let them have you.

Confession: My Life is shaped by the word of God. I am not controlled by emotions and fears

Praying Wisely 4

Download Today's Audio here☞ http://bit.ly/aud1591
Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

Because of her upbringing, Rhoda knew how to pray for long. So when it dawned on her that she was not praying nearly enough, she decided to start praying the way she was brought up to pray. At every opportunity she found, she would pray in the spirit. She also started taking out at least one hour each day to pray in the Spirit.

Rhoda observed that as she prayed more, she became more sensitive in the spirit and was filled with power and boldness. She saw that through prayer, she now physically received the things that had been prophesied over her life long ago; prophecies that appeared like they would not be fulfilled.

It is through prayers that we birth the things that have been given to us through prophecy. This was what Daniel understood when he began to pray concerning the liberation of Israel prophesied by Jeremiah (see Dan 9:2-3).

Rhoda’s prayers were now powerful because she was now walking in the outward manifestation of God’s righteousness.

It is the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man that avails much, not the effectual fervent prayer of any man. Many believers pray long and pray hard, but their prayers are not very powerful because it comes from deceitful lips and impure hearts. They cannot ascend the heights [of power] through prayer because of the way they live their lives (see Psa 24:3-5).

Go into today remembering that deceitful lips do not have any power in the presence of God and his holy angels. Ask the Lord to help you pray in the Spirit on all occasions.

Praying Wisely 3

Download Today's Audio here☞ http://bit.ly/aud1590
James 5:16 (AMP) Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God-it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].

Rhoda grew up in a church where they knew how to pray. They could pray for twelve hours straight. But it was not a Bible-word-based church. Many of them lived unrighteous miserable lives despite their great prayer lives. Many of them had broken marriages, etc.. It appeared that all their prayers were not so powerful because they were not righteous people in their manner of conduct.

When Rhoda left home, she started attending a Bible-based church and grew greatly in faith and the word of righteousness. But they didn’t pray much in that church assembly so power wasn’t as much as it should be.

One big problem I have observed is that many churches that emphasize prayer the way churches should, do not emphasize the practical walking out of righteousness in the lives of their members. This has led to many of them living in an unholy and unrighteous manner. Because of this, even though they pray much, their prayers are not very powerful. It is the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man that makes much power available.

It is also sad that many churches that are faith and Bible-based these days do not pray much. Even when they have all-night prayers, they spend most of the time doing activities and not praying. There would have been tremendous power available if these churches grounded in the word prayed as much as they should.

Go into today asking the Lord to help you pray more in the spirit.

God Feels

Download Today's Audio☞ https://bit.ly/aud2781
Genesis 6:6 (BBE) And the Lord had sorrow because he had made man on the earth, and grief was in his heart.
It is amazing how diametrically opposed to the world’s perception of reality the view of the Word (of God) is. Jesus spoke often of some of these differences. For example, he taught his disciples saying that in the world, those who are great would lord it over others, but that in God’s kingdom, he who wishes to be great must first be (like) a servant. (See Luke 22:24-26). This idea is so alien to the world system as you will find that those who serve usually occupy the lower rung of the society while those who are great are distinguished by the fact that they are the ones who receive the most service.

Similarly, the world has a warped view of who a strong man is. In their view, a strong man is one without emotions, he has strong well-defined chin and well-chiseled figure complete with six-packs and well-toned biceps and triceps. Flog him a million times and he doesn’t as much as whimper. At the very worst he turns around to say something along the lines of “Please let me know when you are done”. And if he suffers a heartbreak, he simply brushes it aside with the same seriousness he would accord the impact of a falling leave upon his shoulder.

He doesn’t laugh out loud nor cry, and if he ever does laugh, it must be just a tip-lipped wry smile, and he is only allowed to shed a few drops of tears with tight lips should he ever decide to cry. The summary is that the world looks at the optics and focuses on it to paint their picture of a strong man. It downplays emotions and makes it look weak and feminine.

However, this view is grossly misleading and quite inaccurate. God does have feelings and displays them often. In the Old Testament, you find that God showed how he felt especially as regards his chosen people, Israel. The prophets were the vessels whose lives were the very instruments with which God’s feelings were displayed and communicated which is why they lived a most dramatic life. Again and again, people broke God’s heart with their idolatrous infidelity, and boy! Did God feel the pain? Yes! Just ask Hosea, Moses, Jeremiah…, they’d tell you.

Your life and living are either sending proverbial daggers through God’s heart or they are supplying joy and satisfaction to Him. It was with a father’s pride that he boasted of Job, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one like him on the earth, a pure and upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil” (See Job 1:8), a similar sentiment that was expressed about Jesus by the Father when He proclaimed before the crowd in Jordan “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). If God is your father, what kind of feelings does He have about you? Are you causing pain or bringing joy?

Go into today knowing that it matters to God how you live and lead your life. God feels, and we will stand before Him someday. Make up your mind to be a beloved son in the order and manner of His Beloved Son.

Sacrificing To Spirits

Download Today's Audio☞ https://bit.ly/aud2780
Psalm 51:17 (KJV) “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."

Have you wondered why God rejected Cain's offering and accepted Abel's? As a child, the response was simple; Cain offered rotten and very bad fruits while Abel, the best; spotless and well-fattened calf. Then as an adult, it was told that Cain brought an offering from the earth which the Lord had cursed, while Abel killed an animal spilling its blood, adumbrating the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Both explanations obviously had their place and were helpful, but a careful examination of the scriptures shows something you probably have not considered as the reason why Cain's offering was rejected. It is simply that the person of Cain was not pleasing to God (Genesis 4:5). The question however still remains, why?

According to our text, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit". This was buttressed in Psalm 4:5 (KJV) when the psalmist wrote, “Offer the sacrifices of righteousness". From both scriptures, it is obvious that the sacrifice of the Lord is not money, animal, fruit, or anything that men will normally bring as a sacrifice. These things however can be used to express the state of a man's heart.

Every action and character is a spiritual commodity for engaging in spiritual transactions. You will invite or host the spirit whose nature the character or action you exhibit agrees with and it is this spirit that will accept you and your sacrifice.

For God, any attitude, character, and action borne out of a contrite heart (a heart that is right before God and holds only things that are godly) will please the Lord and draw you nearer to him.

No wonder, Jesus in Matthew 5:23-24 (KJV) said, “Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift". This buttressed the fact that God requires more than the gift, he wants pure hearts.

Go into today knowing that every action you exhibit, attitude, character, and belief you imbibe are all sacrificial items to spirits. Your gifts and offerings will be accepted by the spirit whose lifestyle you imbibe.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to live in a manner that is pleasing to you so my sacrifices can be accepted by you, amen!

Discerning False Doctrines

1 Timothy 6:3-4 (NET) If someone spreads false teachings and does not agree with sound words (that is, those of our Lord Jesus Christ) and with the teaching that accords with godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in controversies and verbal disputes. This gives rise to envy, dissension, slanders, evil suspicions

One of the most dangerous things I hear certain progressive teachers of the word say is that the words and teachings of our Lord Jesus while He walked the earth are old Testament and are not for the church, that only the epistles (written after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus) are valid because the new covenant started after Jesus resurrected.

Even judging that position normally and logically, it does not make much sense. No one gives the testament of a Covenant after it has been ratified, it is always given before it is ratified. No one signs a contract document before writing it, signing is done after the document has been written. Jesus gave His New Testament through His teachings and commandments in the three and a half years of His earthly ministry, before He ratified it by His death on the cross.

In today's Bible verse, we see that false teaching is any teaching that does not agree with the words of our Lord Jesus. Any teacher that uses the excuse of "that was old Testament" to explain away a doctrine of the Lord Jesus is teaching something false. For example, if a teacher tries to convince you that you shouldn't ask God to forgive your sins when the Lord clearly teaches us to repent of our sins, that teacher is nothing but a false teacher. Just like junk food tastes sweeter but is really not healthy, false doctrines might appear sweeter to the flesh, but they are toxic to your new (born-again) spirit.

Go into today remembering that any teacher who tries to explain away the words of our Lord Jesus is a false teacher.

Prayer: Lord, deliver me and cleanse me from the influence of every false teacher. Give me shepherds afters your heart that will feed me with knowledge and understanding (Jer 3:15). Amen.

Who Told You So?

Download Today's Audio☞ https://bit.ly/aud2779

Philippians 3:7-8 (NET) Moreover, we possess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. You do well if you pay attention to this as you would to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

This was the third time in a single night with each instance more intense than the last. Ini didn’t quite understand fully what the Lord wanted her to do, but one thing she was convinced about was that she needed to speak to Itohan, that much she could discern from the dreams she had had. She knew about the painful breakup that Itohan had just experienced and so she decided that if nothing else, she could offer her some comfort and encouragement.

Ini’s conversation with Itohan was going smoothly as she did her best to reassure Itohan of God’s love for her, and His unshakable desire to settle her in His divine plan and will. She was impressed with how Itohan was handling herself in the light of the pain she must be experiencing, that was until she caught on to something Itohan said:

Itohan: I thank God. The realization that I needed to always put myself first and that self-love is more important than what anybody can offer me really helped me deal with this.

Ini: Wait, what? Wait a minute, Itohan, what do you mean by "self-love" and "putting yourself first"? More importantly, where are you getting these ideas from?

Itohan: What does it matter where I got the ideas from? I mean, you can’t argue against the fact of how helpful it has been. Or are you saying that it is wrong to put one’s interest first?

Ini: That it is ‘helpful’ at the moment is beside the point. We must live our lives with principles that correspond with truth and if, for example, the father of all lies gives you life tips, we must jettison it regardless of how ‘helpful’ it might appear to be.

Many believers go about their lives living on the philosophical framework of the world just because those philosophies and worldviews sound like ‘Christianese’. There are indeed many voices in the world and all have meaning (See 1 Corinthians 14:10), however, the believer must, through discernment, tune the frequency of his hearing to the voice of the Master and Chief Shepherd of the flock who is Himself Truth.

Your life and living must take bearing from God’s word; for God’s word, rightly understood and applied, brings honor, fulfillment, and lasting joy.

Go into today armed with the lamp of God’s word to guide you through the dark paths of life.

Praying Wisely

Download Today's Audio☞ https://bit.ly/aud2778

Matthew 6:7-8 (NKJV) And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

Debo observed that he was now telling lies again. He took a count and identified seven different lies he had told in the past four days. He knew he needed to pray. “I cannot continue like this,” he said to himself as he set his alarm clock to wake him up by 2am to pray. After praying in the spirit that night for about two hours, he knew the power of lying in his life was broken. He now had the power to resist the urge to tell lies.

Debo prayed because he observed a fault in his life that was resisting his outward walk of righteousness. His prayer that night was not about his needs, but about seeking the righteousness of God.

In order to properly understand what Jesus is saying in today's Bible verses, we need to read further to verses 31 and 32. Here Jesus explains the content of the prayers of Gentiles. Their prayers are all about their needs which can be summed up in "what shall we eat, what shall we drink, and what shall we wear?”. In the context of God’s kingdom, prayers based on this premise are 'vain prayer', and repeating such prayers is "vain repetitions".

Jesus goes ahead to tell us in Matt 6:33 that if we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these other things (of physical and material needs) will be added unto us. One way we seek the kingdom of God is in the place of prayer. No one can truly seek the kingdom of God without seeking to walk in God’s righteousness (see Rom 14:17).

Go into today asking the Lord to help you seek His kingdom and righteousness above all.

Your Work Will Be Tested

1 Corinthians 3:13-15 (KJV) Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Caleb visited Jude but couldn’t see him because he was on a retreat. He visited again after several days and still couldn’t speak with Jude because the retreat had not ended. After some time, Caleb met Jude in the Church and asked ‘‘Jude, what were you praying for?’’ Jude put up a smile and said ‘‘I want the mantle of Apostle Paul''. Oh, that’s a great one! Caleb exclaimed.

Shortly after this Caleb and Jude were appointed by their Pastor to oversee cleaning the Church, but Jude became very sad. Why are you sad? Caleb asked. ‘‘Don’t you get it? I want to be an apostle, not a common Church cleaner'' Jude responded.

Just like Jude, many zealous children of God have despised the current assignment God gave them for other works they consider to be more prestigious. In a bid to be celebrated as great servants of God they have created offices for themselves. Others have spent their lives desiring to be greatly used by God while abandoning the everyday assignment committed to them by Him. They do not realize that only those who are faithful in little can be given much, and only those who are faithful in another man's work can be given their own (see Luke 16:10-12).

Apostle Paul explained that what he had done was according to the grace given to him. Neither he nor Apollos chose to be apostles; they simply followed God and became what He ordained them to be.

1 Corinthians 3:5-6 (KJV) Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

Your hard work will gain eternal relevance when in the spirit of humility and service, it is channeled in the direction of the grace given to you (1 Corinthians 15:10).

Go into today knowing that God will reward you only for the work He has sent you to do. Self-appointed assignments would count for nothing and be burned up on that day.

Prayer: ask the Lord for a humble and obedient heart.

Faithful In Little

🎧Download the Audio version [Devotional & Bible] Here☞ http://bit.ly/audio1219

Luke 16:10 (NET) “The one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and the one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

Chief Ola wanted to know which of his many children would be able to control his vast estate. He loved all of them dearly, but he wanted the most faithful ones to take charge of the company. He decided to give them tasks and watch how faithful and productive they would be. He created small businesses for them, and he gave them guidance on how to effectively and successfully run the businesses.

One of the things God is achieving through time is to select his children who would be worthy of wielding His great authority over the entire universe for all eternity. Jesus brought not only salvation but the Kingdom. Salvation is not an end; it is the means to an end -- inheriting the eternal kingdom of God.

God made us in His image and after His likeness because He wanted us to rule the universe with Him. Sin came to abort this agenda, so God had to come in the form of flesh to rescue man [from sin] and bring him back to the kingdom. He did this because of His great love.

God has given you assignments on this earth; He has also given you gifts and resources to help you accomplish these assignments.

Your eternal kingdom ranking will be determined by how faithful you are in your kingdom assignment here on earth. Your assignment in this realm of time may look really big, but the Lord calls it the little things that will determine your eligibility for the great things of His eternal kingdom.

Go into today remembering that God has ordained you to bring forth fruits (see John 15:16). He will reward you according to your work (see Rom 2:6, Rev 22:12).

Are You A Child Or A Son?

Download the Audio: bit.ly/aud1961

Galatians 4:1 (KJV) Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all.

You are a child of God because God is your father and He is responsible for you. You become His son however because you can represent him and are responsible to Him.

Children are born while sons are given (Isaiah 9:6 and John 3:16). To be born again is good since it is the beginning of your walk with the Father, however, it is better that you grow into a son and best that you keep growing. You are a son when your Father can give or send you to a person, a group, or a nation to represent Him.

It is only to sons that God will commit His estate. Matthew 11:27 (KJV) puts it this way in speaking of Jesus, ‘All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him.’

Growing into a son requires that you receive the life and wisdom of your father, and by reason of these become like your father, such that whosoever sees you will see your father through you.

You are not the one to declare yourself a son, that is the Father’s to do (Galatians 4:2 and Romans 1:4). However, you can know that you are growing out of childhood into sonhood (maturity) by measuring how much of you has been totally given to God. The extent to which you have given yourself to God is the extent to which He can give you as an answer to the problem of others.

Go into today knowing that God is seeking sons who will represent Him. It is your level of growth that will determine how useful you will be to God. So, if you desire to be used by God, you must seek to grow.

Pray this way: Father, I commit myself to learning and obeying your word and growing into sonship. Help me Lord to do this, in Jesus name. Amen.

Growing Into Adulthood

Download the Audio: bit.ly/aud1960
Hebrews 5:12-14 (KJV)[12] For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. [13] For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. [14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil

When a baby is born, the expected is that he takes milk for some time, be weaned, eat solid food and grow to become a responsible adult. But when a child refuses to be weaned and grow, such a child becomes a source of worry and concern to his parents.

Just like that baby who has refused to grow because he has refused to be weaned, some Christians today are a source of concern to the Church of God and God Himself. They are being fed the word of God but there is nothing in them that shows it; they have refused to grow.

The hallmark of adulthood is responsibility. A man is mature only to the level to which he is responsible. A man who claims to be an adult but shies away from responsibility is still a child.

“Whom shall He teach knowledge, and whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little” (Isaiah 28:9-10 KJV).

You have learned and studied the word of God, now is the time to put what you have learned to practice. It is with constant practice that mastery is cultivated and it is by this that you will be able to discern between good and evil and fulfill your destiny.

Go into today knowing that God will only be glorified in you when you bear much fruit. Only adults can bear much fruit, not children.

He Experienced Death For You

🎧Get Audio [Devotional & Bible] Here☞ http://bit.ly/audio1216
Hebrews 2:9 (NET) But we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience death on behalf of everyone.

Because Vivian believed that God had withdrawn His grace and protection from her because of her sin, she was very afraid of traveling because she felt she would have an accident and die. Unknown to her, she was now being afflicted by the spirit of guilt and fear, but she thought it was the Holy Spirit that was making her feel the way she felt.

When she started having nightmares, she decided to talk to someone about her guilt and misery. She was lucky to talk to someone who had spiritual understanding, and the first thing the person did after hearing Vivian's story was to hold her hands and rebuke the spirit of guilt and fear that had been tormenting her. She now went on to explain to Vivian that she was already forgiven in Christ, but she needed to receive God's forgiveness and cleansing by believing God's word that she has forgiveness in Christ Jesus.

Forgiveness of sins and cleansing from unrighteousness is freely available for all. In Christ Jesus, God came and suffered death for everyone so that we will not have to suffer the [spiritual] consequences of our sins. Just like God's glorious salvation and the Holy Spirit, forgiveness is freely available, but the problem is that people do not receive it. The devil works overtime to blind people from knowing this.

Go into today remembering that forgiveness of sins and cleansing from unrighteousness is freely available in Christ Jesus. You do not need to earn it, you only need to receive it freely.

Perseverance in Good Works

Download the Audio: https://bit.ly/aud2777

Romans 2:6-8 (NET) [God] will reward each one according to his works:
eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality, but wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition and do not obey the truth but follow unrighteousness.

One thing we must immediately note here is that these verses above were written to believers in Rome and not unbelievers. These were people who already believed in the Lord Jesus and were now members of the church in Rome.

One would immediately wonder if in writing this, Apostle Paul forgot all about the doctrine of justification by faith and the gift of righteousness? But he didn't. It was further in this letter that he gave some of his most profound teachings on these topics.

What then does today's Bible verse mean? How does it apply to the believer?

It's a warning for believers not to continue in the sins that Jesus came to save them from. It's an admonition to believers who continue to practice sin in hypocrisy, but remain in the church and even judge those who are caught in the same sins. (Read Romans 2 from verse 1 to get a clearer picture).

Go into today remembering that the faith that saves is one that is alive and not dead (see James 2:4). One sign of living faith is the presence of good works. For faith without works is dead. A sign of justifying[living] faith in the life of a believer is perseverance in good works.

Liberation Through The Word

Download Audio Version☞ http://bit.ly/aud1578
Psalm 119:11 (KJV) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

After Chide accepted the Lord Jesus, he struggled with many of his previous bad habits and sins. When he discussed this with his discipler, his discipler would recommend prayer and fasting. Chide observed that the prayer and fasting worked in keeping his flesh at bay, but when the fasting was over, he observed that the flesh would spring back up and seek to control him. His spiritual life was like a seesaw; on fire today and down tomorrow.

One day he saw his friend reading a book about the kingdom of God and he was drawn to it. He borrowed the book and started reading it. For the first time, Chide came into an understanding of God’s Truth and kingdom. From then, he was now excited to read the Bible, and even 'the old testament' now made sense to him. He observed that as he became a person of the Word, his prayers became much more powerful and he was now free from the bondage of sin. He received His freedom through the knowledge of the Truth.

Jesus told those who believed in Him that it is when they abide in His word that they would know the truth, and the truth will make them free(see John 8:31-34).

I have come to realize that the most effective way to escape the power of sin is through abiding in God’s word. The way God sanctifies us is through His word [which is Truth] (see John 17:17). The word of God is the spiritual water that cleanses and renews the minds of those who are born again( see Eph 5:26).

Go into today determined to be a person that abides in God’s word.

Arise, shine 1

Get the Audio Version Here☞ bit.ly/aud2776

Isaiah 60:2 (KJV) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Many times Muna read the news, she was terrified by the proliferation of iniquity and the wantonness of the wicked. Everything seemed to be getting worse, not better.

She started to get really discouraged when the Lord comforted her by reminding her of today's Bible verse. From that moment, she changed her view of life and determined that in spite of the fact that things were getting worse, she was getting better. From that time, she realized growth and increase in her life in every area. She also realized that the Lord promoted her and increased her level of influence when He got her to change her outlook on life. One of the disciplines the Lord taught her was to avoid complaining but learn to be thankful for her light in the midst of the darkness in this world.

As darkness covers the earth in these last days, God's promise to His own is that His light will arise upon us and His glory will be seen in us. During these last days when there would be a great rebellion against God in the world(see 2 Thessalonians 2:3), there would be a great revival among God's people. This revival would herald the preaching of the true gospel to the ends of the earth(Matthew 24:14). While gross darkness covers the people and they become more godless and wicked, God's own people will become more godly and steadfast.

As you go into today, determine not to be fazed by the growing corruption and darkness in the world. Determine not to complain or allow the spirit of defeat in (that is the devil's strategy to keep you down). Remember that in spite of the growing darkness in the world, God's light shines brighter over and within you.

Confession: I arise and shine(Isaiah 60:1). I am God's light in this world(Matthew 5:14). My life radiates the Lord's glory and brings Him praise. In Jesus' name.

Overcoming Spiritual Barriers

Audio Version☞ bit.ly/aud1953
Ephesians 4:31-32 (KJV)Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

When Tyron was a child, his family moved to a neighborhood where they were the minority race, and because of this, he grew up hearing racial slurs and curse words. Unknown to him, he had developed a lot of bitterness, hatred, and racism in his heart. So much so that his faith in Christ couldn't affect his politics.

As a businessman running his business with the principles of righteousness, it later became clear that he was under a certain kind of spiritual limitation. There seemed to be a bar he could not cross no matter how hard he tried.

It took him some quality time of waiting on the Lord to realize that there was bitterness and hatred in his heart towards the majority race in his country. As soon as he repented of this hatred and forgave that race for what their ancestors had done against his race, his doors opened and the bar was removed. He now started walking in the blessing of Abraham.

There are many believers today who live lives that are less than God's ideal for them because there is hidden bitterness and hatred in their hearts. I believe one reason apostle Paul could do more than the other apostles was because he walked above tribal and racial bias.

The word of the Lord to someone today is that if you will just let go of tribal/racial bias, you will do exploits in the world for God.

Go into today remembering that there is no room for racism and tribalism in the kingdom of God. Forgive just as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.

Live Worthily of the Calling

Download Audio Version☞ http://bit.ly/aud2214

Ephesians 4:1-3 (NET) I, therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live worthily of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Since the day Colins and Candy got married, they had bitter quarrels and misunderstandings. Colins had this perfect idea of what his ideal wife should be like, but he was disappointed because after marrying Candy, he found that she didn't meet his expectations. Candy, on the other hand, wanted Colins to be a perfect gentleman she could control, but Collins was anything but that. What made matters sadder was that they were both leaders in the church, but they didn't seem to know how to live in peace with each other.
After going for marriage counseling with their pastor, they realized that the root of their problem was pride and a lack of willingness to bear with one another in love. When they both came to terms with the fact that they were proud and needed to humble themselves, they started to have a happy marriage.

One of the ugliest things to see is Christian fellowships or homes in which there are divisions and dissensions. Most of the time, it takes a conscious effort on our part to maintain peace. A believer who is quarrelsome and divisive is not living in a manner worthy of His calling in God.

How do believers live worthily? We do so by making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Many times, in dealing with people, if there would be peace and unity of spirit, we have to be willing to be patient and bear with them in love. This is only possible when we are humble and gentle. A proud person cannot do this.

Go into today remembering that walking in a manner worthy of the Lord enables you to walk in the glorious power and liberty of the Lord. Humility and gentleness are key attributes of those who walk in a manner worthy of the Lord.
Prayer: Lord, help me walk in a manner worthy of my calling in You and please You in all things. Amen.

The Place of Prayer 2

🎧Audio Version with Bible ☞ http://bit.ly/audio1210
Matthew 26:41 (KJV) Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Kole received a huge promotion. He knew he would be exposed to a lot of money in this new position. Most of the people who occupied that office before him became very rich by unjust means through that office. But Kole knew God was putting him in that office to represent Christ and be a beacon of righteousness.

But when he truthfully evaluated himself, he realized that he did not have enough strength to resist the temptations of that office. He decided to conquer this weakness in the place of prayer. He prayed until he knew he had received the strength to resist the temptations of that office.

When Jesus was tempted to abandon the cross and not do the Father’s will, He prayed until he prayed through and received strength for the task ahead. The way to handle temptation is by prayer, it is not by boldface.

If you begin to sense that you do not have the strength to overcome a particular temptation that is coming your way, pray about the issue until you receive the strength to overcome.

Prayer is the way through which the weak flesh receives strength to do what the spirit wills. Many Christians have become carnal and fleshly because they have abandoned their place of prayer.

Go into today remembering that prayer is the way through which the grace of God in your spirit is transmitted to your [weak] flesh that wants to make you fall. You have to always be truthful in your evaluation of yourself and pray to overcome any perceived weakness.

The Place of Prayer

🎧 Audio Version with Bible ☞ http://bit.ly/audio1209
Matthew 21:12-13 (NET)Then Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those who were selling and buying in the temple courts, and turned over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are turning it into a den of robbers!”

When Dayo moved to the city, he started attending a church that was very popular, but something was missing in that church. They didn’t pray much. They even despised the idea of having all-night prayer meetings (even though many of the church members who were very busy during the week would have found that an opportunity to pray and spend quality time with God), and their normal meetings hardly exceeded 90mins. In such meetings, one wouldn’t get to pray for more than 10mins.

Dayo’s smartphone was stolen the first Sunday he attended that church, the next Sunday, somebody reached into his pocket and stole his money inside the church. Many of his church brothers and sisters were businesspeople using the church as a place to meet clients. In just three weeks, Dayo had been approached (in church) by 9 different multi-level marketing proposals. It was clear that many of the church members didn’t really love God.

We can learn from today’s Bible verses that when prayer has been taken away from God’s house, it becomes a den of robbers. God’s house should be a place of prayer, but if it is not, it becomes a den of thieves.

Your life should be a life of prayer because you are also God’s temple. If there is one activity that you do the most, it should be praying.

Go into today remembering that God wants you to pray without ceasing (see 1 Thess 5:17). This is the secret of a healthy spiritual [and physical] life in Christ. Prayer increases the flow of grace and power.

The Power of Right Believing 2

🎧 Audio Version with Bible ☞ http://bit.ly/audio1208
Romans 10:10 (KJV)For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Serdo woke up in the morning and was feeling very condemned and unrighteous. She felt this way because she believe that God had not forgiven her of her sins even though she had repented. She woke up with a new wave of guilt and this was going to affect the whole of her day. But she started reading the word of God, and she remembered how much God loves her as her father. She began to say 'if God is my father, then all these things I’ve been thinking are not true. I am a child of God and I am blameless and righteous in His sight’.

One of the biggest manifestations of what you believe is what you say. You can also use what you say to control what you believe (see Prov 18:21). That was what Serdo started doing, and it worked.

If it looks like what you believe is not consistent with God's word, confess God's word until it begins to change what you believe. This can take several minutes or even hours in the place of prayer. But never forget that what you believe will control the course of your life.

The Holy Spirit ministers righteousness to your spirit, He is the one who makes you know that you are God’s righteous child.
Satan is the one who ministers condemnation to your spirit, he always tries to make you feel you are not righteous enough and God is not pleased with you.

Go into today remembering that you are to resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). One potent tool with which to do this is the word of God in your mouth. Confess what God says concerning you and resist the condemning thoughts engineered by the kingdom of darkness.

The Power of Right Believing 1

Prayer for the sick in today's Audio
🎧 Audio Version with Bible ☞ http://bit.ly/audio1207

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Pastor Dan:… and Ikenna, don’t forget that God will never allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to handle.

Ikenna: But Pastor, my experience says the contrary. The temptations I’ve been facing are much more than what I can handle. That is why I am here to see you sir.

Pastor Dan: you underestimate yourself spiritually. Do you not know that what you believe and say would control your life? What you believe is very important, even your salvation is as a result of what you believe. You believed in the Lord Jesus and therefore received His salvation.

One of the biggest deceptions of the devil against Christians is to make us believe that the temptations we face are insurmountable. As soon as you begin to believe that you cannot overcome a temptation, you have weakened yourself and greatly reduced your power to overcome. But if you go into every day believing God’s word that He will not allow any temptation that is beyond your strength to come your way, even though you see a temptation that looks beyond your strength, you will find a way of escape.

Go into today knowing that what you believe is very important. Never ever believe that there is any challenge you can face that you cannot overcome. Your Father in heaven who controls all things will never let such challenges come your way.

Prayer: Thank the Father for His word today. Ask for grace for right believing in every area of life.

The Resurrection Body 2

Download Audio Version:☞ bit.ly/aud1947
1 Corinthians 15:41-42 (NET)There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon and another glory of the stars, for star differs from star in glory. It is the same with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable.

When Jesus ascended into heaven, He ascended with His body because He now had a body that could partake in the things of heaven and the things of earth. That’s the superior kind of body we would have during the resurrection.

The kind of glory your resurrection body will have is different from the kind of glory your body has right now. That body cannot die nor grow old. It is a body, but it is spiritual. It would be able to partake in both the spiritual and physical dimensions of the realms.

The glorified bodies we are going to receive will radiate the glory of God. It is these bodies that would reveal our real nature as sons of God (Rom 8:23).

This body of flesh is limited in its ability to walk in the reality of the divine life. The more yielded and filled with the Holy Spirit we are, the more this body of flesh would be able to walk in a foretaste of the glory to come because the Holy Spirit quickens our mortal bodies. It is only through the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit that you can truly subdue the power of the flesh.

Go into today meditating on these verses:
1 John 3:2-3 (NET) Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is. And everyone who has this hope focused on him purifies himself, just as Jesus is pure).

The Resurrection Body

Download Audio Version:☞ http://bit.ly/aud1946

1 Corinthians 15:35 (NET)But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”

Someone recently asked me how it would be possible for those whose bodies were eaten and digested by wild animals to resurrect. How about those whose bodies were cremated?

I explained to him that all a brilliant scientist needed to clone an animal would simply be its DNA, and getting the DNA of a body long dead is not even difficult for human scientists. DNA is quite easy to get, it can even be extracted from your saliva or even feces. If a human scientist needed just DNA to clone a body, how much more God the master scientist.

If anything of the old was needed, all that would be needed to use to resurrect you would simply be your DNA. I don't have any doubt in my heart that God can resurrect us on the last day, it is easy to even understand that this is possible as a scientist.

But some might wonder the kind of body we would have.

It would be an indestructible glorified body like the one the Lord Jesus has right now. That's a body that can partake of both spiritual things and physical things. Since The Lord Jesus resurrected in the body over two thousand years ago, He is still alive in that body and has not grown old a bit. He will come back to receive us in that same body. His kind of body is the kind we would have on the resurrection.

Go into today remembering the words of these verses:
Philippians 3:20-21 (NET) But our citizenship is in heaven – and we also await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform these humble bodies of ours into the likeness of his glorious body by means of that power by which he is able to subject all things to himself.

Don’t Deceive Yourself

Download Audio Version: http://bit.ly/audio1945
James 1:22 (KJV) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
When Linda started attending church services, she was very lucky to be attending a church assembly where the sincere word of God was preached and taught. Because of this, she understood that the way she was living her life was contrary to the will of God, but she continued to live that way and console herself with words like 'no one is perfect, we are all saved by grace and not our works'. She told herself words like these while she continued to live like an unbeliever.

She didn't know that it was only herself she was deceiving and not God. She assumed she had a relationship with God, but did not know that she was still an unbeliever. Believers are known by their fruits (character) and not by their confessions alone (see Matt 7:16).

It was when she got very sick, was about to die and had an out-of-body experience that she realized she was only deceiving herself all these years. She saw that she was going straight to hell, but her mother’s intercession brought her back.

One of the worst forms of deceit is self-deceit. This happens when a person has come to sincerely believe a lie. This is bound to happen to those who hear the word of God but continue in their own ways that are contrary to the will of God revealed by His word. Like Linda, they would only end up deceiving themselves, thinking they are near to God while they are very far from Him. The devil who is the master deceiver loves this form of self-deceit and can even orchestrate events to help facilitate it.

Go into today remembering that God is not mocked and His standard remains unchanged; let everyone who names the name of God depart from iniquity (see Galatians 6:7, 2 Timothy 2:19).

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me to be a doer of your word and not a hearer only. Deliver me from all forms of self-deceit, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Be Welled Balanced, Be Vigilant

Click Here to Download the Audio Version ☞ www.bit.ly/aud2209

1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) Be well balanced [temperate, sober of mind], be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that the enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

An adversary is an opponent, one seeking to defeat you in a cause. We have an adversary in the devil who has had a whole lot of experience in deceit and seduction. He is always poised to subvert men from God’s will.

It is particularly easy to slack in vigilance when faced with a crisis. It is why people, when angry, tend to say and act in ways that they would later regret. Words they would dare not utter they speak, things they would dare not do, they do. This is not limited to times of anger, but also in times of great emotional upheaval, people tend to act more from emotions that from good reasoning.

God is reminding us today to take heed and be vigilant. Don’t relax your grip on God’s word and on your faith. Be well balanced. Keep your emotions in check. Don’t join the bandwagon, don’t act or speak flippantly. Don’t cast off restraint. Apostle James had very useful instructions to this end. “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath” (James 1:19).

This is the time to meditate much more on the word of God, to fill your mind with godly messages and faith-filled words. This is the time to stand strong in the faith. Remember that faith only exists in the presence of God’s word. Romans 10:17 says that ‘faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God’. Build yourself in your most holy faith praying in the Holy Ghost.

Here is how the Message Bible puts it, “Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.” (1 Peter 5:8-11).

Pray like this: Thank you Father for your word is true. I am kept and preserved by your word. My heart is fixed on you and my lips kept from guile. Amen.
