EXERCISE SELF-CONTROL

1 Peter 1:13-14
So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.

Self-control is something that you have to exercise because it may be quite difficult to restrain your appetite (the flesh) especially if you have previously been used to following its cravings.
I want you to know that the Holy Spirit who now lives within you has given you the power to control yourself and not let the devil take advantage of your appetite.
When you control yourself you need to do this knowing that it is in preparation for the revealing of Jesus Christ to the world; when you will reign with the lord Jesus on the earth. This is a promise to all those who walk in the Holy Spirit who has been given to be our seal and guarantee till that day of His appearing.
God wants you to live a life that is beyond normal, He wants you to live a life filled with supernatural manifestation of His power enabling you to do the things that you normally do not have the power to do.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly father, I worship you today and I thank you for your glorious name. I ask that you give me the grace to walk in the Spirit and to no longer follow the desires of the flesh. I pray o lord that you bless me with your wisdom that I may serve you better on the earth. I pray this o God in Jesus glorious name. Amen

HE TRULY CARES

1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
NIV
The natural response to many of life’s challenges is anxiety and fear.
Jesus instructed us expressly to be anxious for nothing, He went further to buttress this instruction through His Apostle in the book of Phil 4 where we are told to make our requests known to God and receive peace instead of the anxiety to which we are naturally susceptible.
One thing you need to hold today is that the Lord really cares for you. He doesn’t want you to worry and be anxious about anything; He wants you to give it all to His hands.
There is nothing too hard for God, if he has not done it now, it is because there is a good reason for that. Make sure to trust and obey Him at all times, for as there’s no other way to happy in Jesus.
Prayer: Heavenly father, thank you for your love for me. Thank you that you have chosen me to be your own out of the multitude of this world. I pray that you give me grace to continue in your love and in obeying you. Amen.

HE UNDERSTANDS

Heb 4:15
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin
NKJV

Jesus wants you to know through this passage that no matter your situation He understands because even though He is God, he became a man to save us; and he understands pain.
No matter the situation you are going through today, God has a plan and a purpose for your life and He wants you to know that He will bring out beauty out of the pity and a testimony out of the test.
Temptations are a common thing among us humans, God understands that we will be tempted and He has made all grace available for us to resist temptations.
You need to remember daily that God loves you and He plans the BEST for you.
Prayer: Dear heavenly father, I thank you for your love and all that you have done for me. I thank you that you understand exactly what I am going through right now. I pray that you give me grace to live the life that you have called me to live, in Jesus name. Amen

WHOLESOME TEACHING

Titus 2:1-2
As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching.

Any Christian teaching that does not promote the government and Lordship of the Lord over your life is unwholesome and unhealthy for you.
The teaching in the church is all about the teachings of Christ: His kingdom, His commands, His lordship and dominion in lives; His indwelling within His people… and the preaching in the church is the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom of God (see Matt 28:19-20
There is a kind of living that that reflects wholesome Christian teaching and I want to admonish you today to ensure that you subscribe to it.
Let it always be about what the Lord’s will is in your Life. Let His dominion control the way you live. When you do this you cannot escape seeing the manifestation of His power in your Life in ways that are simply mind blowing.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank you giving me an opportunity to project your personality in my locality. I pray that your spirit will bring this to my remembrance at all times. Amen

GRACE TEACHES

GRACE TEACHES
Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
NKJV
Grace is the ability that God has given you to deny ungodliness and lusts, and the grace of God does this by first teaching you how to go about it.
If you have received Christ and are subject to His lordship over you, you will agree that there are certain things that you used to do before that you no longer do, there are certain places and people you used to go to before that you no longer go to; because the grace of God showed you that continuing with those will not help you in resisting lusts and ungodliness.
We do all these with the hope of being a part of the glorious appearing of our great God and savior.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for this day that you have made and given me grace to rule over, I thank you for your mercy that didn’t give up on me when I didn’t meet up. I pray that I will from this day respond to the teachings of your grace in my life, in Jesus Name. Amen
