THE DESIRES OF THE RIGHTEOUS

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1DhH3cZ

Proverbs 10:24

"...what the righteous desires will be given to him."

This is indeed a very encouraging promise from the Lord. In a world full of heartaches and life threatening challenges, in a world ridden with poverty, starvation, unemployment, uncertainties and all forms of frustrating situations, God has given us His word " what the righteous desires will be given him". The question now is, what do you desire? Or, let me put it this way, are you righteous? Is Jesus Lord of your life? Have you given up all for Him? Is your life built on Him? If indeed the Lord is the one in charge of your life, whatever you desire, He has promised to give them to you.

Friends, the most interesting part is that He is the one that will guide you to desire the right things. Ezekiel 36:26 "and I will give you a new heart- I will give you new and right desires- and put a new spirit within you..."(living bible). So, you see, you don't have to fret or be afraid, what the righteous desires will be given him.

Go into today knowing that God sees your needs and your desires and it gives Him joy to satisfy you; mention two specific (right)desires of your heart to God today and expect a miracle.

Prayer: thank you heavenly father for your word of comfort and hope. I pray you help me walk constantly in the reality of your truth, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

SONS OF THE LIGHT

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO

1 Thess. 5:5 "For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We're not of the night or of darkness."

There was a song we were thought in Sunday school, "this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine..." You see, we are living in a world of darkness, everyplace you turn people are confused, hurt, deceived and led astray. There is a lot of blindness everywhere. Not physical blindness or darkness, it’s spiritual which is more severe than the physical.

This is the reason Jesus came, to destroy the works of darkness and bring liberation to man through the light. 1 John 3:8. One of the ways this will happen is when sons of light, I.e. you and I, invade the world, through our various spheres of influence and shine our lights thus dispelling darkness and liberating those around us.

Dear friends, we are sons of light, let's shine our lights and brighten up the corners where we find ourselves.

REJOICE WITH THOSE WHO REJOICE

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

Rom 12:15

Some years ago, I was in a youth conference and the preacher preached quite a lengthy sermon on salvation. During the sermon, most of the thousands of youths in the convention began to weep uncontrollably as their hearts were pricked by the message. I discovered that even my friend who was sitting close to me started weeping also. Even though I wasn't really moved to tears by the sermon I couldn't hold the tears at a given point because everyone around me was weeping.

Even though Jesus was going to raise Lazarus from the dead, he was moved to weep when he saw his friends weeping (see John 11: 30-35).

When you truly love people, you will rejoice when they rejoice and weep when they weep- this is an attribute and a check of true love.

Go into today determined to love everyone you deal with from your heart.

Thank you father for giving me a heart like Christ's. I pray you help me love like Christ did, in Jesus name. Amen

PROPHESIES ARE CREATIVE

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO

And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith.

Rom 12:6

There is something unique about the gift of prophesy and the faith of the one prophesying because prophesies are usually creative utterances that the servants of God have the privilege of making. Faith is required in creating things and your prophesying should be according to your measure of faith lest you act presumptuously or you get discouraged.

You know the measure of faith that you are currently operating in, you are to prophesy accordingly. Do not say things presumptuously because you like the sound of what is coming to your spirit.

Go into today knowing that you are God's masterpiece created unto good works. The words you say concerning your life are creative; do not let destructive words concerning your life ever come out of your mouth or heart.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father for making me in your image and likeness. I pray dear lord that you help me use the creative power you have put in my mouth as your child, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

DO NOT LAG IN ZEAL

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO

11 Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.

Rom 12:11-12

I have come to to realize that it is almost a natural thing for we humans to lag in zeal as time goes on; we naturally loose our first love and the fire that once burnt in our bones. I think one of the reasons for this is because God made us for Himself and with God there is always a new revelation. God perfectly understands this nature and he gave us a potent remedy. You will never lose your zeal as long as you stay filled with the Holy Spirit

If you observe that there was a time you were more zealous than you are right now, make sure you take time to pray fervently and confess that weakness to the lord. Rejoice in the hope of your calling; never forget the redemption of your body; that one day you will be as the lord is with a glorified body and you will physically rule this earth with Him during the millennial reign of Christ and beyond. If you are passing through an unfavorable situation, do not let it weigh you down because you know you will reign at last.

Go into today determined to encourage yourself and renew your zeal in serving the lord. The Lord will never leave you alone.

Prayer: Thank you father for the newness of your mercies every morning; thank you for taking me from glory to glory as I know more of your word. Please help me never to loose my first love, in Jesus name. Amen

ABHOR WHAT IS EVIL

image

AUDIO VERSION: http://bit.ly/1t4jUrP

Rom 12:9

9 Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.

NET

One of the lessons I learnt that really helped me as a Christian child was the lesson of loving righteousness and despising wickedness. I remember friends who even though they did not do certain bad things, really admired those who did such, as if they thought they were in some kind of bondage being Christians. These friends eventually went on doing those same things latter.

We are instructed in today’s Bible text to abhor what is evil and cling to what is good. We are not only to avoid doing evil but we are to abhor the acts; we are to hate the sin but love the sinner. As your mind is renewed in Christ, sin becomes exceedingly repulsive and righteousness more and more attractive.

Go into today determined to exalt all that is good and despise things that are evil: don’t spend your time watching them on TV thus passively joining the world to celebrate them.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father for your word today. I pray you help me love righteousness and hate wickedness; give me the grace to be your light in my generation. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Be Thankful

image

Audio Version

Col. 3:15b

" ...And be ye thankful. "

KJV

Thankfulness is an act of showing appreciation or gratitude. Being thankful to God means glorifying God in your spirit for the things He has done, the things He is doing, and what He is planning to do. Thankfulness is the beginning of spirituality, it is a spiritual activity. In ROM 1:21, we notice that those who did not glorify God were unthankful or ungrateful. It is impossible for you to serve God and walk daily with Him without being thankful. Thankfulness takes your eyes away from yourself and fixes it on God.

Friends, there is so much to be grateful for. Thank God every moment. Thank Him for everything. Remember that Thanksgiving is an act of worship, and 'he that worships does not worry, he that worries does not worship'. As you leave your house today, make up your mind that you won't complain. Don't complain, don’t murmur, whenever situations arise that would cause you to complain or murmur, just give thanks. That challenge will not consume you because 'a singing saint does not sink'.

Prayer: Thank your heavenly father for bringing you to this day; thank Him for all that He has done in the past. Thank Him what all He is doing for you now and what He is doing in the future. Ask Him to fill your heart with His grace to continually walk in His presence, in Jesus name. Amen

A WORD FROM GOD

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/12lIGej

Ps 107:20

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

KJV

Nothing calms a storm better than a word from God. No problem, challenge or situation can outlive the word of God. The bible says that heaven and earth will pass away but the word that Jesus speaks will not (see Luke 21:37). Every word that God speaks is sure and will come to pass as written in Isaiah 55:10-11.

Many times we run helter skelter over issues because we do not have the word of God concerning such issues. The word of God gives the final verdict to any situation no matter how unresolvable it may seem. So each time we are faced with challenges, all we really need do is to know God's stand concerning the issue and let our actions flow from His will.

Go into today seeking God's face concerning every issue that bothers you and trust that he would speak a word to direct you.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father for your word today. I pray you help me always dwell in your word and will, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

LOVING ENOUGH

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1t5YCeU

2Tim 3:4b lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God

KJV.

Sometime ago, I was preaching to a young lady who confessed to me that she loved God but she had just been hindered to serve Him; she had gone too far that she didn’t know where to start; she was in a lifestyle she wasn’t willing to give up.

If you ask even thieves and sinners whether they love God ,most of them would say yes and they are not lying; they think they love God, only they just don’t love Him enough to give up those things that pull them away from Him.

It is easy to judge these people but we do the same thing; we love God enough to read our bibles and pray but maybe not enough to give up our pride or our comfort. It is not enough to just love God; we are to love Him more than everything else.

Go into today ready to put God first in everything and love Him above all else: this is the true way to experience His kingdom.

Prayer: Dear lord, please help me love you enough to give up everything that hinders my fellowship with you, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

BECOMING THE WORD OF GOD

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1osk5P4

James 1:22

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

KJV

Something I have realized is that preaching the word of God is easy but doing it is not as easy. in fac, people are impressed so much by ‘Rhema’ that it distracts them from what is really important which is doing the word of God.

God does not give us revelation of His word so we can impress our hearers but so that we can do the word of God with understanding and those who look at us will see the word of God.

The bible says in John 1: 14 that the word became flesh, Jesus’ life was a physical manifestation of the word of God. Instead of saying what does the word of God say in this situation we could say what would Jesus do?

We also can become the word of God by practicing the word of God so much that people see Christ in us.

Go into today determined to do the word of God by not simply saying it (which is important) but doing what it says; for example, the word says rejoice in the lord always ( see Phil 4:4). Consciously maintain a joyful mood in the lord always because this joy is your strength (see Neh 8:10)

PRAYER: Thank you father for your word today. Please I ask that you give me grace to be a doer of your word and not a hearer only, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

SECRET TO GREATNESS

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1pvv1Xd

Matt. 20:25-28

"But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many"

From the bible text above, it is obvious that God's own view of greatness is not in position, power

or prestige; but it is actually in service (servant hood).

This is actually contrary to the world's view about greatness. The world terms a man great when he is rich, famous, and/or anointed, but these things do not necessarily relate to his greatness in God's view. God is more interested in people that are ready to serve than those with big titles who only want to be served.

A servant of God is not just one who is into a full-time ministry but one who is into full-time obedience to God. Servant hood is actually the platform for enthronement and empowerment.

Remember, "For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth" (2 Cor 10:18)

Go into today determining to serve God and humanity rather than being served, as this is actually the way to greatness in God's Kingdom. (see Matt. 23:11)

TRUE WORSHIP 2

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1rm68gk

John 4:2

But a time is coming - and now is here - when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers.

NET

Worship does not just mean lifting up hands and singing songs to God, It is much more than that; your worship of God means the totality of your life before Him. Worship in the kingdom means your life; the way you live your life either glorifies(worships) God or does not glorify God.

If the worship that God seeks is the one in spirit, we only get to worship God because we have spirits. The flesh cannot please God for the flesh is in enmity with God. Since our worship of God is our life before him, worshiping Him in spirit means walking constantly in the spirit.

You have the choice everyday of either walking in the spirit or walking in the flesh. When you chose to walk in the spirit you have chosen life, if you walk in the flesh you have chosen death. The greatest manifestation of the flesh is self. Self is that attribute that in us that gives us higher priority than God in our lives.

Go into today determined to walk in the spirit by denying all manifestations of the flesh.

TRUE WORSHIP PART 1

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1sZFAXK

John 4:23

But a time is coming - and now is here - when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers. NET

From our text the topic under discussion was about where the appropriate location for worshiping God was; the Samaritan woman thought it was the mountain and the Jews said it was Jerusalem. This was when Jesus informed us that the appropriate location where we worship God is in the spirit because God is spirit. We can worship God in spirit because we also have spirits ourselves. It is when we worship God in spirit that we worship Him in truth (this is the true way to worship God).

We shall attempt to look into the details of what it means to worship God in spirit in subsequent devotionals.

Go into today with the determination to have a truthful assessment of your relationship with God and make concrete decisions to improve your relationship with God.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father because you are more interested in a truthful relationship with me than I am with you. I pray you help me dear lord to walk in the spirit and Not the flesh, in Jesus name. Amen

OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH

Ps 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

KJV

In the lord I find true protection and hope. He is the one who keeps me from adversity and delivers my soul from destruction. He doesn't only protect me but he is my source of strength.

In case because of my weakness I fail and find myself in a position where I need help, God is my very present help in such time of need. All I need to do is trust Him and call on His name.

This is the lot of the righteous man; the one who calls the lord his lord; the one who has brought himself under the authority of Christ’s government.

Go into today determined to make God your refuge by submitting the totality of your life to His government and will and see a dimension of God’s help you never imagined.

COSMOS OUT OF CHAOS

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1phHHAP

Gen 1:2

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The crude and chaotic condition of Gen 1:2 was not left in vain (see Isa 45:18), the Spirit of God came on board, with the fullness of His life-giving energy, and “brooded” over the waters. By so doing, He put the earth under the culture of the Divine Spirit, making it capable of the highest utility and beauty.

The hope of the chaotic world, and the hope of the unsaved soul is all in the brooding Spirit of God; seeking to bring order out of chaos, light out of darkness, life out of death and saint out of sinners. The knockings and voice of Christ (see Rev 3:20) are the broodings of the Spirit - all providences, admonitions, and direct invitation of the Spirit of God in the man’s spirit and conscience.

When we pray and intercede for sinners, we create an atmosphere and invitation for the Spirit of God to brood over their lives in preparation of the word of faith they would hear that should save their souls. (see Jn 6:63, Ja 1:21, Lk 8:12).

Go into today, making mention in fervent prayer, anyone in your neighborhood who has not yet accepted Christ as Lord.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you send your spirit to brood over the soul of sinners that hear the Word that they may be inclined to receive and keep that which saves, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

INHERIT GOD’S KINGDOM

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/ZvRpbS

Heb 2:8-10

Now when it says "all things," it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all things put under their authority. 9 What we do see is Jesus, who was given a position "a little lower than the angels"; and because he suffered death for us, he is now "crowned with glory and honor." Yes, by God's grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone. 10 God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.

NLT

God has given us the kingdom- for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom. Except a man is born of the spirit, He cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

Christianity is about the kingdom of God. God is real and tangible to those who are truly in His kingdom. He is not so to those who are without. Only those who are born of the spirit get to inherit the kingdom.

What then does it mean to be born of the spirit?

When a man is born of the spirit, one of the major evidences is that he walks in the spirit; his total being is now controlled from his spirit and no longer from his flesh. This means he now does things not because of the feelings of his flesh and mind but because of the leading of the spirit. Such a man walks by faith and not by sight or feelings (your faith is from your spirit). Because of this man’s spirit led life, he is a just man, and such a man lives by faith and faithfulness to God, for the just shall live by faith.

Being born of the spirit means you are born again and this is literal, it happened to your spirit. It begins by believing in Jesus Christ, that he rose up from the dead; that he rose up with a glorified body, the kind of body that you will someday have and walk on the earth as a SON of God, that he ascended to heaven bodily. You also accept Him as the lord of your life; this means your life now belongs to Him and you let Him rule it. When you do all this, you will be saved. When you live in the light of this truth daily, you will grow into a son and be led by the spirit. This is what it means to be born of the spirit.

Go into today knowing that you are not of this world but God has bought you with a price and you have been transformed into a new creature. Your light shines in darkness and darkness cannot comprehend it.

PRAYER: thank you father for bringing me to your kingdom. I pray you give me grace to walk in the fullness the kingdom, in Jesus' name. Amen

ETERNAL JUDGMENT

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO : http://bit.ly/1xR6W2c

Eccl 12:14

For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

NIV

When humans die, their souls live on; we never really absolutely die because we are spirit beings. Our scripture reveals that God will bring into judgment the acts of all humans, including every secret thing. The teaching on eternal judgment reveals that God is judge and He will judge everyone, no one can escape this. People may escape human justice but no one will be able to escape eternal justice.

Go into today remembering that God judges justly and righteously. He is the one who brings order into the universe and He will bring order into everything in your life.

Prayer: thank you heavenly father because I have eternal life. Thank you lord because I have been made a recipient of your great love. I pray dear lord that I will walk constantly knowing that you bring order into my world. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

THE GOSPEL TRUST

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1wvmoQ0

Rom 10:14.

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

As pricey as the redemption in Christ Jesus is, the privilege of heralding its glad tidings were not committed to angels but to faithful men. When Saul had an encounter with the Lord on the way to Damascus, he heard the voice of the Lord tell him to go into the city, where he would be told what he must do, and there he met Ananias, a man who ministered the life of the gospel to him. And also when there was a pressing need for Cornelius to receive the gospel, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a vision, instructing him to call for Peter, a man, who would give him the gospel (see Acts 9:3-6, 10:3-6).

Do not let the gospel be to you as pearls before swine (see Mt 7:6). At all times, be the man that God is depending on to profess Christ to the dying world; when He needs a man to save a man in your sphere of contact, do not be found wanting (see Ezek 22:29,30).

Go into today determined to make use of every opportunity not just to tell somebody about Jesus but to get those within your reach converted through the help of the Holy Spirit.

HAVE MERCY UPON ME, O GOD

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1wq4gHs

Ps 51:1-3

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: accordin g unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

KJV

There are certain times that this prayer becomes a necessity for a Christian.

In times when there is an overpowering and subduing in a transgression, in times when there is a true conviction that the mark has been missed; in times of willful disobedience, this cry should come out of the heart of a true son in God’s kingdom.

It is better to fall into the hands of the lord than the hands of His enemies and your enemies. This sincere cry guarantees that.

For we know that it is only by and through God’s mercy that we survive.

We are empty before Him and can only be filled because of His everlasting mercies.

Go into today reminded that there is room for anyone who wants to repent and forsake his sin…there is room at the cross for everyone.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly father, thank you for your loving kindness and tender mercies. I pray that I will see your unfailing love and fill me with your nature. In Jesus Holy name I pray. Amen

LIVING A LED LIFE

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO VERSION: http://bit.ly/1qIyQaE

John 5

17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

NET

Jesus walked the earth being constantly led; He did as He saw the father do or in other words He did exactly as He was led. He made it very clear that His life was a manifestation of the will of the father; this made Him walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit and power, which was why he lived an extra ordinary life.

Do you realize that if you are now in the kingdom of God, your life is no more your own but you've been bought with a price(see 1 Cor. 6:20)? In order for you to see God's great power manifested as He has written, you need to come to the point of total surrender to God's will; even though you have a will, you come to the point where your will in inconsequential in your life because of God's will. Living a God led life is the key to living a God blessed life.

Go into today determined to always walk in God's will and see a more glorious you shine forth.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father for giving me the opportunity to walk in your kingdom. I pray you help me walk in your will at all times, in Jesus name. Amen

THE LAYING ON OF HANDS (ORDINATION)

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/113G18w

1 Tim 4:14

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

KJV

This aspect of the teachings on the laying on of hands reveals that God has called all His children into specific assignments within His kingdom. There is no one in the kingdom of God without a responsibility therein.

Now there are some that have been particularly called to do ministry in the house of God (just like others have been called into the business world, administrations, helps, etc.); these people are expected to lead the body of Christ in certain areas; they stand as visible leaders in the body of Christ usually ministering the word and power of God to the people. The doctrine of the laying on of hands reveals that such people should be approved and authorized by the presbytery (the part of church reserved for the officiating minsters) and this approval is sealed by the laying on of hands. We normally call this approval an ordination.

Even though you may have a calling of God upon your life, if that calling is to minister the word to the body of Christ, or stand in leadership in the church of Christ( e.g. as an evangelist, pastor, teacher, prophet, Apostle), it is expedient for you to be officially ordained by the presbytery of an assembly of God’s people because it is the order of God’s house (see Leviticus 21:10, Acts 14:23) and it unleashes extra heavenly endorsements; whatsoever the church binds on earth is bound in heaven; whatsoever the church looses on earth is loosed in heaven(see Matt 18:18).

Go into today determined to walk in your God ordained destiny.

Prayer: Dear heavenly father. I thank you for your word. I pray you help me identify and walk in your purpose for my life each and every day, In Jesus name I pray. Amen

RECOGNIZE YOUR SOURCE

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1qtFgur

Ps 121:2

My help cometh from the lord, which made heaven and earth.

KJV

People often say that when the Lord wants to bless a man He would not come down by Himself to do it; He will use men instead. This is very true, but people often times fail to recognize that these people God uses to bless them are but vessels in His hands and instead of living to please Him they often live to please their bosses or whoever is in position to bless then at whatever point. This is wrong, the bible says promotion doesn't come from anywhere else but God (see Ps 75:6), also, the heart of kings (those in top places or in positions to bless us) are in the hands of God and He turns it wherever He wants ( see Prov 21:1); this means that if we can live to please God, He would cause these people to look upon us with favour; again the bible says: if a man's ways please the Lord He causes even His enemies to be at peace with Him.(see Prov 16:7).

Go into today determined to please God in everything you do, recognize that He is your source and a very present help in time of need.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father because you are my source in life. I pray you give me grace to truly trust you at all times, in Jesus name. Amen

PRAYER FROM THE DEPTHS

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO : http://bit.ly/ZRGASA

Jonah 2:6

I sank to the foot of the mountains. I sank to the bottom, where bars held me forever. But you brought me back from the pit, O LORD, my God.

GW

There are certain circumstances that seem to redefine our usual upward and forward progress in life. This was Prophet Jonah’s plight when he was down in the depths of the sea. Notwithstanding the reason for the affliction and the seeming impossibility for deliverance, the Lord brought him out, as out of a grave. Why? Jonah prayed: "I called to the LORD in my distress, and He answered me. From the depths of my watery grave I cried for help, and you heard my cry ( see Jon 2:2).

Your present situation does not matter as much as your response to it. Whether you are wallowing in the mud because of your mistake (Ps 119:67), facing a setback or downfall perpetuated by wicked and unreasonable men or circumstances (Prov. 24:15, 16), or you are being persecuted for righteousness sake (1 Pet 4:16, 19), be quick to turn to the Lord in prayer. The Lord will be right there to show Himself strong on your behalf (see 2Chron 16:9).

Go into today determined to take all of your burdens, anxieties and distresses to the lord in prayer; believing and knowing that He is ever willing to take off you every yoke and to make light your burdens (see Matt 11:28)

Prayer: Father, I thank you that by grace I have a hearing with you. And in every situation, when I call, you give ear to my voice and a hand in the depths (Heb 4:16, 1Jn 5:15, 16). Please keep me in your peace, in Jesus name. Amen

A MAN GOD WANTS TO HONOR

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/ZslBEW

Esther 6:6 "So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honor?..."

Also read Psalms 15: http://bit.ly/1uYGCos

Recently, while going through my old notes in one of my old bibles, I came across this message that was preached by my pastor some years back. It was really refreshing to me, and I hope you will be blessed as you go through it.

A man that God wants to honor is a man that:

· Loves God's presence

· Loves God's word

· Takes his consecration seriously

· Makes a definite determination to do God's will

· Is loyal to his master, Jesus.

· Promotes the interest of the kingdom

· Is committed and consistent with God

· Knows and hears God's voice.

Friends, this is that man that God wants to honor. And guess what, God wants you to be that man, God wants to make you that man. All you need to do is allow Him.

Go into today determined to let lord build these virtues within you and see how much honor the lord will bring your way.

Prayer: thank you heavenly father for bringing your word of life to me today. I pray you help me walk worthy of my calling in you; in the path of honor, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

HOPE FROM THE WORD

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1vKPsCS

Romans 15:4: "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."

KJV

The bible, a collation of the thoughts of God, was compiled for our learning. The purpose of scriptures is to instruct and teach us every day. The bible is one of the richest resource materials we can learn from. Everything about life can be discovered there. Economic principles, leadership principles, people management, financial intelligence, public relations and many other principles of life can be found in the bible. God intentionally designed it that way so that we can learn from it.

The passage we considered today points out that the bible, the word of God inspires hope in us through patience (on our part), and comfort of the scriptures. Now, here is the point, if you find yourself in a hopeless, desperate or challenging situation, go back to the word of God and look for a word that addresses such an issue. Once you get that word, stand on it and prayerfully face that situation. You will see hope come alive in you and you will come out victorious. God cannot lie, His word cannot be broken, if He said it, He will do it.

Go into today determined to bank on God’s word, you may have to wait for a while but don't lose faith, hold on to that word, it will surely come to pass.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father because I know that the thoughts you have for me are good and not evil; I pray you help me see your good will manifest in my life, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT: HABITS

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1yEVJpm

And do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit,

Eph 5:18

There are certain habits that hinder your being filled with the Holy Spirit. A quintessential example of such is getting drunk. Anything a man does that gives the flesh more control over him than the spirit is something that hinders his being filled with the Holy Spirit.

The flesh contends against the spirit(see Gal 5:17) so anything you do that gives the flesh excessive control or priority is one that hinders being filled with the Holy spirit. One of the ways to walk in the spirit is to give your spiritual life more priority than your physical life.

Go into today determined to stay filled with the Holy Spirit by walking in the spirit; avoid any habit that strengthens the flesh over the spirit.

Prayer: Thank you father for giving me your spirit. I pray you help me walk in the spirit and never in the flesh; give me grace over every habit that displeases you, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

JESUS AVOIDED DISTRACTIONS

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO: http://bit.ly/1rX5fRa

Matt 15:23-24

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
KJV

Before Jesus resurrected from the dead and gave His disciples the commission to take the gospel to the ends of the earth, He only sent them to take the gospel to the lost sheep of Israel (see Mat 10:5-6). Everyone Jesus healed then was of Jewish origin except for very few who had great faith with which they received their miracles. The point here is that Jesus’ anointing was at that time limited to the people of Israel because he had not yet been glorified. We shall not be able to further discuss this here.

One of the ways to stay filled with the spirit is to avoid distractions. Distractions for good people are not usually bad things but other good things that are not within their mission for that time. The reason why distractions are so dangerous is because the anointing that God gives you is  sufficient for the assignment He has given you and not for distractions.

In order to avoid distractions, you need to constantly walk in the light of your purpose and vision per time, and identify involvements that are not enhancing them.

Go into today determined to stay filled with the spirit by also avoiding distractions.

PRAYER: I thank you  heavenly father for giving me a vision and a mission in the kingdom. I pray you help me stay away from all distractions, in Jesus mighty name. Amen

JESUS LIVED FOR PURPOSE

                                                                              LISTEN TO AUDIO
John 9:4
We must perform the deeds of the one who sent me as long as it is daytime. Night is coming when no one can work.
NET
One of the first things I noticed in studying how Jesus stayed filled with the Holy ghost is that Jesus immersed himself with his assignment and purpose on the earth. Everyone that was with Him, everywhere he went to, every single thing he did was done in accomplishing the works of the father that sent him.
Do you know that like Jesus God has sent you to do certain works in the place He  plants you per time? Like Jesus, make sure your friends, the things you do, the places you go to are all centered around the purpose of God for your life. It is on this path that you find the most angelic helps, and  will most easily be able to stay filled with the Holy spirit.
Go into today determined to lead a purpose driven life. Let all you do and say, including every relationship be based on the kingdom purpose for your life.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father for your word today. I pray that you help me live a purpose driven life; that everything I do and say will be geared towards the assignment you have given me on the earth, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
