The Cripple Who Found God's Kindness

Download Today's Audio here: http://bit.ly/audio2653

2 Samuel 9:3 (KJV), “And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet."

I know of a poor palm wine taper who couldn't get married because no woman wanted to live with him but who eventually got a job to secure an abandoned government property. Some thieves came to steal from that property, he caught them and something amazing happened. The office of the president called for him and rewarded him with some huge amount of money which he used to purchase a  plot of land on which he built a two-bedroom apartment. He also bought himself a motorcycle and has lived on what's left.

Mephibosheth, the subject of today's text was crippled on his feet but found his way to the palace because of the covenant that existed between his father (Jonathan) and the king (David). All he needed to do was agree to the king's invitation.

A covenant has been enacted between God and his Son, Jesus Christ. This covenant has the ability to bring you into God's palace, if you like Mephibosheth will accept Jesus' invitation. It does not matter who you are currently or what people call you, what is important is accepting Jesus' invitation. If you accept his invitation, He will lead you into His Father's palace.

The Psalmist speaking of God said, “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore" (Psalm 16:11 KJV). Once you've found the path of life, this path will lead you into the place of joy and pleasure.

Go into today knowing that no sin or challenge is too difficult for God to handle if you can find your way to His presence, and this is only possible through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Now That I'm Saved, What's Next?

Download Today's Audio here: http://audio1652
John 15:16 (LOGOS), “You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you may ask the Father in My name He may give to you."

“Now that you are done with your first degree, what's next?" Joy's Dad asked. Her response was, “I want to work dad".

Most of the persons who have enrolled or are enrolling for higher degrees are doing so because they want better jobs. People keep improving themselves so they can be useful in solving societal problems, gain some relevance, and earn money.

In like manner, you are saved and brought into service to God, and you are expected to keep improving yourself so you can be of better kingdom relevance, please your savior, and get your eternal reward eventually (see Rev 22:12).

This is however not the case with many Christians today. They behave as though all that there is to salvation is an escape from hell, but don't care about what their savior wants. Remember that the most important reason why you're saved is so you would be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:30) and what Jesus spent his life doing was pleasing the Father. Regarding this, God said, “this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him" and this was around the end of Jesus' earthly ministry.

If you must be conformed to the image of the Son, you must please God as Jesus did and that means you must discover what God wants you to do and be fruitful in it.

Go into today knowing that, now that you're saved, what's next is discovering what God has called you to be, walk in it and keep improving yourself until the day you’ll hear, “welcome, good and faithful servant". Matthew 25:21.

Prayer: Father, I ask in Jesus' name that you reveal my call to me and help me walk in it to the point of fruitfulness. Amen!

Sons Have Eternal life 3

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/audio2651
Galatians 6:7-8 (NET) Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

Frank was a believer but he still loved the world and the things that were in the world. Because of this, he was living a life of compromises and always consoling himself with phrases like: "nobody is perfect, "we are all under grace", "my salvation is eternal". But instead of him walking in the power of his eternal life as a son of God, he was walking under the power of corruption like an ordinary sinful human. His life wasn't much different from that of his unbeliever neighbors. He feared what they feared, was subject to the same things that happened to unbelievers, and spoke like they spoke when they expressed fears and uncertainties about the times. Even though Frank was a believer in the Lord Jesus, he wasn't walking in the power of his eternal life as a son of God because he had spent his days sowing to the flesh even though he had received the new birth and the empowerment to sow to the spirit.

When you see a believer walking in the power of his eternal life, it is because he has spent quality time sowing to the Spirit and is now reaping the benefits as a result. We sow to the spirit by acting in faith, but we sow to the flesh by walking in the flesh. If you wake up in the morning and confess the word of God over life and over your day, you are sowing to the Spirit, and through those words, you're activating the power of eternal life in various aspects of your life. Every time you act according to God's word rather than according to the way the flesh wants, you are sowing to the Spirit instead of the flesh.

Go into today remembering that everything you do, think, and say is a seed either to the flesh yielding death and corruption or to the Spirit yielding life and peace.

Prayer: Lord, help me sow to the spirit and never again to the flesh. Let my life always give you glory and demonstrate your power. Amen.

God's Will Is Superior To My Prayer

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/audio2650

Matthew 21:22 (KJV) “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

When Shane discovered today's text, he was so excited that he exclaimed, “oh, finally, I can get all I ever wanted!" Being a very ambitious person, he started asking God for very big things but to his amazement, only very few of the things asked for were actualized, one of such happened when he prayed for supernatural provision so he could help the poor widows in his church. “Why did I get answers to some prayers and not the others? What might be wrong?" He asked.

In a bid to get answers to his questions, he started studying the Bible: knowing the secret of answered prayer was his aim. One of such days, he found Jesus saying, “My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work" (John 4:34), then, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me." (John 5:30 KJV). The one that blew his mind was 1 John 5:14, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us".

Oh! So it is his will that he answers! It was after this discovery that he coined the statement, “His will is superior to my prayers".

This discovery might be what you need too, when this is well understood, you'll pray prayers that will always receive answers.

Go into today knowing that the power of faith is unleashed when the will of God is in view. It is faith that helps us to do the will of God. If your faith does not propel you in the direction of God's will, that faith is not of God.

Prayer: I receive grace to seek, pray and do the will of God only, In Jesus' name. Amen

The Yoke Shall Be Destroyed Because Of The Anointing

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/audio2649
Judges 6:12-14 (KJV) “And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?"

As long as Gideon was ignorant of God's ordination for him, he and his nation suffered in the hands of their enemies. All the while, the Lord was with him and he was a mighty man of valor but his ignorance kept him in obscurity and reduced him to a man seeking survival instead of being a savior.

There are many mighty men of valor today who like Gideon are afraid of their enemies and are living far below God's ordination for them, even when it is obvious that the Lord is with them.

There are yokes that will never be destroyed until you have discovered God's ordination for you and have began to make conscious effort to fulfil it.

Regarding this, God in Isaiah 10:27 said, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing".

Go into today knowing that a child of God will remain under certain kinds of yokes if he refuse to do what he has been anointed to do.

Prayer: Father, reveal my ordination to me and help me fulfil it in Jesus name. Amen!

Sons Have Eternal Life 2

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/audio2648

1 John 5:12 (NET) The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.

It wasn't that Phillip too was not a believer, in fact, he and Jide became friends because they both were leaders in the same campus fellowship when they were in the university, but unlike Phillip, Jide remained in the Lord, and allowed his life to be ruled by the will and pleasure of the Lord.

Phillip, on the other hand, was a believer but he was not completely sold out to the Lord. He still wanted the best of both worlds. He loved the Lord but he also loved the world. Unknown to him though, the love of the Father was not truly in him because of his love for the world and the things therein(see 1 John 2:15). He also was not accountable to any church assembly but was a floating Christian who had changed church assembly eight times in six years.

From today's Bible verse, we see that it is he that has the Son that has eternal life. What does it mean to have the Son? It means to abide in the Lord and let His word and Spirit dwell in us richly. A believer who is not spirit-filled cannot appropriate the power and benefits of his eternal life that is in Christ.

Abiding in Christ begins with a decision we make to remain in the Lord and not go back to the world. A believer who abides in the Lord would abide in the church because the church is the body of Christ. The church is a community of believers that have leadership that meets the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3. In the church, there should be submission and accountability. You are to be submitted and accountable to the leadership of your local church assembly.

Go into today remembering that those who walk in the power of eternal life are those who abide in Christ. Those who abide in Christ would abide in His church and allow the word of God to become the standard upon which they build their lives.

Prayer: Lord, help me abide in you and be fruitful.

Sons Have Eternal Life

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/audio2647

1 John 5:11-13 (NET) And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.

I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

When Jide visited Phillip's home for the first time, after he left, it was evident that someone with eternal life had visited. Phillip's mother was sick with an incurable illness and had been discharged from the hospital because the doctors could not heal her. But after Jide stayed in Phillips’s house for some days, miraculously, his mother started becoming better until she became completely healed. Also, Phillip had a poultry farm with many layers that he had been feeding for months and they refused to lay eggs, the vet had advised him that the chickens were probably terrified by the loud barks of the dogs in the compound and that he could change their location and also change their feed. But after the third day Jide slept in Phillip's house, all the birds started laying eggs, and many were laying more than one egg per day. This was a marvel.

Jide was a carrier of eternal life, and he was aware of this. Everywhere he went, life and peace followed him because he understood the economy and dynamics of the life that he carried.

What is Eternal life? Eternal life is the God kind of life. It is the kind and quality of life that can only be found in God (the source and giver of all life). One of the awesome privileges we have as believers in the Son of God is that we are joined to Him. We dwell in Him and He in us, thus we also have His eternal life.

One of the major reasons Apostle John wrote the epistle of 1st John to the saints was because he wanted them to know that they have eternal life (see 1 John 5:13). If a believer is unaware of the presence and potency of the eternal life he has, he may not walk in it and enjoy its benefits.

Next time, we shall examine the dynamics of this eternal life which we possess and how to appropriate it.

Go into today knowing that if you abide in Christ, and He abides in you (through the Holy Spirit and His word), you share in His eternal life, and the power of corruption has been suspended within you. Read John 10:10, 2 Peter 1:4

Prayer: Lord, help me remember that I have eternal life, and teach me to appropriate the power and benefits of this life.

Has My Prayer Been Answered?

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/audio2646

Jeremiah 29:13-14 (KJV) “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord : and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord ; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive."

“Why are you bordering me? I've told you already that I don't pray twice about a matter, once I've spoken to God about it once, that's it; God said it, I believe it and that settles it. You see, I won't pray those prayers again, I won't practice vain repetition, by faith, I believe that I have been delivered" was Jane's response when Joy asked that they pray again against her being constantly molested in the dream. Since Joy couldn't persuade Jane otherwise, she let her be. Sadly though, the cycle of molestation by a strange man in her dreams continued and because of this, she couldn't get married.

Jane wouldn't repeat the same prayer twice because she considered it doubting God and a sign of faithlessness. Was she right? Is it wrong to pray the same prayer over and over again?

In Isaiah 62:6-7 (KJV), God said, “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, and give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth." You see, repeating the same prayers over and over again is not wrong.

How then do I know that my prayer has been answered and when to stop praying about it? According to today's text and Isaiah 62:6-7, it is until what you're asking for has been done.

And the second is: until God gives you a word or an assurance concerning that issue. This was recorded concerning Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 (KJV), “and lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me". You see, because God gave him a word of assurance, he quit praying about the issue.

Go into today knowing that you are to keep asking until your joy is full (see John 16:24).

Prayer: Father, I ask in Jesus' name for the grace to continue in prayer until your purposes are fulfilled in my life. Amen!

Predestination

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2645
Romans 8:30-31 (KJV) Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

A rich generous king prepared a big banquet and was kind enough to invite all the nobles and honorable people in his kingdom. But unfortunately, they all despised his invitation and made it clear that they were not coming. Because of this, he extended his invitation to everyone else-- the commoners were now invited. Everyone else was now to be part of the party. Read Matthew 22:1-14.

Salvation was for the Jews(John 4:22). They were the noble people of God's kingdom because they were the nation separated unto God from their inception. But the door was opened to the Gentiles because the Jews rejected the call of God (Romans 11:12). This was demonstrated in the fact that they were the ones who gave the Lord over to be crucified.
But God was aware of all this. It played into His eternal plan to save not only the Jews but the whole world.

Today, many are called, and we can see from today's Scripture that it is those who have been predestined that are called. But we also see in Matthew 22:14 that out of the many called, few are chosen. Our response to the call is what will determine whether we are chosen.
Because man has free will, the fact that he was predestined and called does not automatically mean that he would be chosen. We have to respond to the call.

For those of us who have responded to the call of God to become conformed to the image of His dear son, we need to continue in our conviction to the end (Hebrews 10:23). Let's not allow distractions, pressures, and cares of this life to hinder us from being fruitful. Let us endure to the end so that we would receive our crown and not be ashamed when our Lord appears.

Go into today remembering that God's got you. Your salvation was planned from the foundation of the world. Your life is not a coincidence and all things are working together for your good because you love God and are called according to His purpose.

Prayer: Thank you, Heavenly Father, for choosing me before I knew anything. I ask that you help me walk worthy of this glorious call and please you in all regards. Amen.

The What, The How And The When Of God's Promises

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2644
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (KJV) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart"

“God has good plans for me? You can't be serious, leave that story for your church members. I'm done with God. I believed and followed him twenty good years and had nothing to show for it, I'm done, I'm just done with whatever has to do with God”. This was Regina's response when her youth Pastor visited her and encouraged her from today's text.

Almost every Christian knows or must have at least heard the first part of today's text, the proceeding verses are however are not commonly heard. As important as knowing what God's promises are (The What), it is equally important to know how to access them (The How) and when to access them (The When).

For twenty years, Regina only knew what God's promises were but her ignorance of when and how to access them led to her frustration. The same has been the case for many Christians.

From today's text, verse 11 describes God's plan for you while verses 12 and 13 describe how and when to access them.

If your story is similar to Regina's, you probably should begin to call on the name of the Lord and seek Him with the whole of your heart because the promises are for those who seek God with their whole heart.

Go into today knowing that, seeking the Lord with your whole heart is what guarantees access to His promises.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to seek you with my whole heart and appropriate your promises for me, In Jesus Jesus’ name. Amen!

The Sin of Comparing and Complaining

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2643
Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV) It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Larry was so tired of everything he was going through that he was willing to just quit serving the Lord. His discouragement in life was primarily because he was comparing himself with certain people who seemed to be doing much better than him materially. He wasn't really doing badly, but he could not appreciate what the Lord was doing for him because he was too busy comparing himself with certain people.

As Larry grew spiritually, he realized that he had been walking in foolishness for a long time because he was comparing himself with other people(see 2 Corinthians 10:12), and had demonstrated unthankfulness to the Lord for so many years, yet the Lord was still faithful in keeping him. He saw how the dealings of the Lord were different in his own life and he now appreciated the wisdom of the Lord in determining his seasons. He also saw how the Lord was patiently working in him to produce perfection, and he now understood the futility of comparing himself with other people.

Many times a believer begins to compare himself with other people and grumble in his heart, it sends such a negative signal against the Lord in the realm of the spirit that what he deserves, as a result, is destruction. Many of the people of Israel were consumed in the wilderness because of the basic sin of comparing and complaining(see 1 Corinthians 10:10), and scripture reveals that these things happened to them for our examples (see 1 Corinthians 10:6).

The next time the flesh wants to push you to compare and complain, remember that you're an eternal being and the way to measure your progress is by eternal standards and not merely earthly ones. What should get you bothered is if you're not growing in the knowledge of the Lord and becoming more like Him daily.

Remember also that complaining as a believer is a fruit of unbelief. They that live by faith know that God is in control. Instead of complaining, pray about every situation until the pressure in your heart is relieved. If after you've prayed the pressure comes back, pray some more(Phillipians 4:6).

Go into today knowing that it is because of the mercy of the Lord that we have not been consumed in spite of our complaining. Many of God's people were consumed in the wilderness because they were guilty of complaining about things that people would normally complain about, but they were to know better. If you find that you too are guilty of comparing and complaining, repent now.

Praying In Jesus' Name

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2642
John 14:13-14 (NKJV)13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

A young lady's prayer went thus:

Lord, you know I am faithful in my tithes and offerings. You know I also give to the needy and I do not withhold what I have from the poor. Please provide for me this need and prove that you are a faithful God.

Somewhere in that same city, another young lady prayed thus:

Father, I ask that you provide this need for me. I ask not because I believe I deserve anything from you, but because I believe Christ has paid the price for me to receive from you.

The second lady got her answer because she asked in the Name of the Lord.

Even though the first lady ended her prayers by saying the words "in Jesus' name", she wasn’t really asking in the name of the Lord. The reason she believed God should answer her was because of her good works.

Good works are indeed powerful in the realm of the spirit and have been the reason for the visitation of God upon many people. Cornelius attracted heaven's attention and the angel of God visited him because of his good works (see Acts 10:1-4). Your good works are powerful but they are not as powerful as your faith in Christ Jesus. Your record of good works may help you garner much-needed confidence in dealing with God as a son, but when it comes to receiving from God, let your faith be in the works of Christ alone. That is how to pray in Jesus' name.

Go into today remembering to present the superior currency when making heavenly transactions. Faith in Christ is always superior.

The Led Are The Sons

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2641

Isaiah 28:9-10 (KJV) “Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little"

“Danny, you can't attend that party, you're just a child. Besides, I don't like such gatherings, it may be harmful to you" Mrs. Wood said.

“Mum, I'm no longer a child, I'm an adult. I am eighteen remember? You, therefore, should give me some space" Danny replied.

In the world, adulthood means more freedom or independence. The older a child gets, the freer he becomes, and his parent's input in his decision-making gradually wanes. But it is not so in the kingdom of God, the direct opposite is the case. In the kingdom, the more mature you get, the more dependent on God you have become. Actually, your rank in God is a function of how dependent on Him you are.

For Danny, his proof of maturity manifested in his ability to have an opinion contrary to his mother's opinion and refuse his mother's opinion. For sons of God, it is their inability to take a step when God has not given the instruction to do so that shows that they have been weaned.

A mature child or son of God will do what God says he should do, will not do what He says he should not do and even more, he will not do what God has not asked him to do. This man cannot act unless he hears from God. And if he does not hear, he sticks to the last instruction and keeps waiting on God for a new one.

For sons, it must be precept upon precept and line upon line, here a little and there a little, for it is them that are led by the spirit of God that are the sons of God (Romans 8:14).

Go into today Knowing that the life you have been called into is a life of dependence and trust in the Lord. The more dependent on God you get, the more of Him you will know and experience.

Prayer: Pray for grace to surrender absolutely to God.

Three Hundred Men: Few or Many?

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2640
Judges 7:6-7 (Living Bible): Only three hundred of the men drank from their hands; all the others drank with their mouths to the stream. “I’ll conquer the Midianites with these three hundred!” the Lord told Gideon. “Send all the others home!”

Ever seen or heard of the critically acclaimed movie “300”? It is a fictional retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae in the Persian Wars. The story tells about a King who led an army of 300 men, to defend the Hot Gates (Thermopylae) against the advance of the mighty Persian armies. The movie depicts the ‘heroic’ efforts and sacrifice of the 300 Spartans who simply defied the odds to stand against the Persians, and even though they were outnumbered, they simply refused to yield. Most people watch this historical fantasy, as the movie is classified, and get goosebumps. Well, the Bible tells us the story of 300 men carefully chosen by God to deliver His people from their enemies.

Judges chapters 6 and 7 records this amazing story. God had raised an unlikely hero in the person of Gideon, unlike Leonidas (of the 300 Spartans story) who was a warrior king trained from childhood in the art of war and combat, Gideon was that man who was conducting his family business in hiding because he was afraid of their oppressors. He wasn’t some guy with 6 packs and bulging biceps overflowing with courage and confidence. He was just your average joe from most indications. Do note that God is in the business of raising ordinary men to do extraordinary things for Him.

However, after an encounter with God, through his angel, Gideon became another man. And the first thing he did thereafter was to pull down the temple of Baal in his father’s house. Because you see, when God becomes Lord in your life, one of the very first manifestations will be the pulling down of idolatry and all its vestiges. Thereafter, Gideon raised an army of 32,000. Sufficient, right? Not nearly so, not when you are faced with an enemy too numerous to count (See Judges 7:12) and guess what God asked him to do, request for reinforcement? No. He said,

“There are too many of you! I can’t let all of you fight the Midianites, for then the people of Israel will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength! Send home any of your men who are timid and frightened.” (Judges 7:2-3 Living Bible) Gideon did and they were left with 10,000 men and yet the Lord insisted that there were still too many. He cut their number to 300 men and with them he defeated the “too-many-to-number” soldiers of the Midianites and Amalekites, demonstrating that having God on your side is more important and beneficial than having statistics in your favor.

Remember, those three hundred were the ones who were not unafraid and timid. Are you confident in the fact that you know the Lord?

Go into today reassured that if God be for you, no man can prevail in being against you. Desert every false way and stand firm in the faithful hands of the Lord.
Because GOD is for me, no one can prevail in being against me

Fruitfulness, The Mandate Of Sons

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2639
Genesis 1:11-12 (KJV) “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good".

My Chukwudi's wife had just delivered a bouncing baby girl, the midwives thought it a thing of joy to break the news to him, but to their surprise, he became sad immediately he heard of the baby's sex. “Oh God, I have four daughters already, why didn't you give me at least a son, just one, just one to preserve the family name" he responded.

My Chukwudi's concern was with the propagation of his family name, he had spoken like a typical untransformed cultural African man. His desire was not bad, but his view was myopic.

God seeks men and women who will propagate his life on earth, He seeks men who will make his name glorious and hallowed.

Every living thing created by God has installed in it the ability to reproduce after its kind, this ability is contained in their seed. Since God had created man in his own likeness and image, we are His kind, hence, it is expected that we produce His kind; “God-kind". This is why he commanded us to “be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion...” (Genesis 1:28).

This ability was corrupted when Satan sold sin to man, the result of which was man having the sinful nature (Genesis 6:3, 12), but when a man comes to God through Christ Jesus, this corruption is taken away and the ability to manifest the divine nature restored(2 Peter 1:4).

Go into today Knowing that once you accept the lordship of Jesus Christ, you have been mandated to manifest the divine nature. You thus can no longer live for yourself.

Prayer: Father, help me to produce the God kind of life wherever I'm placed in Jesus’ name. Amen!

God Confirms His Word

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2638
Hebrews 2:3-4 (NKJV) how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

Shade had a hard time discerning false prophets from true ones. She observed that some of the false prophets had become very smart by embracing 'holiness' doctrines.
But she had a personal encounter with one of such holiness preachers and realized he was as greedy and filthy as the rest. She also realized that most of the false prophets were not interested in winning souls for the Lord, they were only interested in the money.

We can see from today's Bible verses that salvation was first preached by the Lord Jesus Himself, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him (His disciples who echoed His gospel).
In Matthew 9:35 and Luke 8:1, we see that the Lord Jesus went to different towns and villages teaching and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. We also see that His disciples did the same. Many wonder what gospel message Jesus and the Apostles preached since Jesus was not yet crucified? Well, Jesus preached the message of salvation. What makes a person receive eternal salvation is believing that Jesus is Lord(the Christ of God, the messiah). Even before Jesus died on the cross, people were being saved through believing in Him.
We see in Luke 19:9 that Jesus said salvation had come to the house of Zacchaeus [because he believed in Him].

Before and after His death and resurrection, believing that Jesus is Lord was the key to salvation. The resurrection was God's token proof that Jesus is Lord. The Jews crucified Him because He said He was the Christ (the Son of God, the King of the Jews). But God raised Him up on the third day as proof that He is indeed the Christ (Lord, Anointed One, the Messiah). The gospel we preach today now includes this vital truth— that God raised Jesus from the dead (see Romans 10:9).

In John 4, we are given a rare peek into the content of the gospel message that Jesus preached while He walked the streets of Israel. We see Jesus preaching to the Samaritan woman, and their conversation headed up to Him revealing to her that He is the Messiah(see John 4:25-26). The woman believed in Him and even invited others to come and see the Christ (see John 4:29).

Whether then, or when the Apostles preached, or today, the gospel message has been about bringing people to receive the Lordship of Christ Jesus. People who receive the gospel live under the Lordship of Christ. That's why they repent of their old ways that do not align with life under Christ's government.

Go into today remembering that God confirms His gospel with signs and wonders, miracles and gifts of The Spirit.
The next time you want to discern whether a prophet is false or not, look at the fruits of his ministry (Matthew 7:16). Is he raising people whose allegiance is to Christ (this shows by their lives of submission to the Lordship of Christ) or is he raising people whose true allegiance is to him and to mammon?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me be a true minister of your salvation. Stretch out your hand to confirm your word in life with signs and wonders, miracles and gifts of the Spirit, In Jesus' name. Amen.

Do Not Trespass!

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2637

Ecclesiastes 12:1 (AMP) Remember [earnestly] also your Creator [that you are not your own, but His property now] in the days of your youth, before the evil days come or the years draw near when you will say [of physical pleasures], I have no enjoyment in them—

Have you ever seen one of those signs they put up on certain properties? “Do Not Trespass”?

A trespass usually occurs when a person encroaches into the property of another person, or a violation of one’s right, especially as it concerns one’s property. Close to the concept of trespassing is transgression. When a law has been violated, or an act has gone past the set limits.

One question every believer must have a firm and accurate grasp of the answer is “Whose, exactly am I?”. Who owns you? Is your life yours to direct and determine its course as you please?

On the road to Rome amid a storm, Apostle Paul said something that is quite profound. He said,

“For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,”

You see, the understanding of whose you are will greatly influence who and how you serve. Do you know that you have been bought with a price and that you are no longer your own? (See 1 Corinthians 6:20). Has the truth sunk into your subconscious and risen into your active consciousness? Or is it just one of those ‘meaningless’ religious mantras to you?

Truth is, when a man (Christian) devotes all his life to serving the will of God, he is not doing anything so spectacular deserving of some special accolades, he is just using his life the way he ought to, and according to its maker’s design. When the lyrics of your life song rhymes with the words and spirit of the hymn, “Take My Life and Let It Be”, you are not doing God a favor; you are just doing the right thing.

Your life belongs to the Lord, your body is his temple, the Holy Spirit dwells within you, not as a tenant, but as the landlord. Next time, before you draw up all those wonderful plans for your life and decide to ‘compensate’ God with some time and service in return for his goodness to you, think again! You don’t compensate a person with his property; you are trespassing, you are transgressing.

Have this attitude instead, the attitude of seeking Him, seeking to know Him and to know His will for your life. Once you discover His will and plans for you, set your face like a flint and follow His plans with doggedness and perseverance, regardless of what the world says or thinks. Always remember, the saying “you belong to God” is not a figure of speech but a clear statement of fact.

Go into today knowing that God owns your life and therefore seek to (always) know and do His will for you.

Sonship, Obedience, and Honor

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2636

Malachi 1:6a (NIV) A son honors his father, and a slave his master.
Jeremiah chapter 35 makes for an interesting read. You see, God had instructed Jeremiah to invite a group of people over and to offer them wine. Jeremiah did just as the Lord instructed. When these guests arrived, Jeremiah offered them wine just as the Lord had instructed him to. However, they declined the offer, stating that they had instructions from their father (forebear), which included them drinking no wine, and so they said,

“So we have obeyed him in all these things. We have never had a drink of wine to this day, nor have our wives, our sons, or our daughters.” (Jeremiah 35:8 NLT).

Sonship is not just about tracing one’s origin to a father, it comes with certain expectations and responsibilities. In today’s text, we read a snippet of God’s berating of his people through his prophet. One responsibility of a son is to honor and obey his father.

The idea of honor connotes a holding one in very high regard, esteem one greatly. This is evidenced through the words and actions of the one who honors. We obey the one we honor. We give our best to the one we honor.

When we profess to honor God, we honor him by living in submission to his will and in subjection to his word. We honor him with our giving and with our living.

Jesus Christ is God’s pattern Son. That means, he is the example of who a son is and how God’s child ought to walk. In his life, you see a total submission to the will of his Father. In Gethsemane, this was in full display. Faced with the enormity of the task ahead of him Jesus went to pray saying, “O MY Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou will” (Matt26:39).

If we must walk as sons, we must walk as Jesus did, in total submission to the will of God.

Go into today seeking to know the Father’s will, and to do it.

How Bad Is Unforgiveness?

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2635

Matthew 18:33-35 (NET) “Should you not have shown mercy to your fellow slave, just as I showed it to you? And in anger his lord turned him over to the prison guards to torture him until he repaid all he owed. So also my heavenly Father will do to you, if each of you does not forgive your brother from your heart.”

One of the things that happened frequently when David and his friends went out on evangelism was the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They had so many testimonies that they believed God gave them the special gift of getting people baptized in the Holy Spirit. But on one occasion they met two women, the first was an unbeliever who received salvation that day and was immediately baptized in the Holy Ghost; she spoke in tongues and prophesied that day. But the second woman was a believer who desired to be baptized in the Holy Ghost but who didn't receive the baptism after hours of prayers and laying on of hands.

It was just before they had given up on her that a member of the team received a word of knowledge, “who have you refused to forgive?" He asked. “My husband is a wicked man, he abandoned me and the children, he does not care, I can't forgive him" she responded. “Oh! As long as you refuse to forgive him, the Holy Spirit won't come!” David said gently. After speaking to her about the dangers of unforgiveness, she finally agreed to forgive her husband. Immediately after this, she became filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues.

The man in today's text who refused to forgive his fellow servant lost the pardon he earlier received, ended up in the prison, and secured torture for himself, while the woman in our story couldn't receive Holy Spirit baptism because of unforgiveness. What has Unforgiveness cost you? Have you been imprisoned or limited because you refused to forgive? Are you currently being tortured because you won't forgive those who offended you?

Go into today knowing that unforgiveness is one of the easiest ways to lose out of God's blessings.

Prayer: search your heart for any trace of unforgiveness, forgive the person or persons, then ask God to forgive and restore you.

…And Sons Enterprise

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2634

Luke 2:49 (AMP) And He said to them, How is it that you had to look for Me? Did you not see and know that it is necessary [as a duty] for Me [a]to be in My Father’s house and [occupied] about My Father’s business?

There is an interesting business naming practice characterized by the South Easterners in Nigeria. Businesses were usually named with the name of the founding businessman with the addition of the phrase, “And Sons Enterprise”. So there were businesses with names such as ‘Emeka and Sons Enterprise”, Chuks and Sons Enterprise”, “Buchi and Sons Enterprise ” etcetera. And true to the name, the founding-father usually trains their sons in the family business so they could continue the business long after the father is gone.

Luke chapter 2 narrates the story of the birth of Jesus right down to when he went with his parents for the Passover feast in Jerusalem and he stayed behind. His parents went searching for him and found him in the temple dialoguing with the teachers of the law in the temple. When Mary asked him

“Child, why have You treated us like this? Here Your father and I have been anxiously looking for You”, his response was do you not know that I must be about my Father’s business? And that was exactly what he did till he left this world. Remember his response to his disciples when they came back with food for him while he was by the well in Samaria? He said, ““My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”

The idea of sonship comes with a sense of responsibility.

God has an ‘enterprise’. There is a Father’s business that we must be engaged in as sons. God has work and assignments that he desires to accomplish through us. A son, a responsible one, must be diligent to discover what it is the Lord would have him do. He must actively seek to know, ‘what would you have me do? What part will you have me play in your agenda?’ When he discovers it, he must spend his life, time, and resources doing it. It is irresponsible to think that you can go about your business and only dedicate church services to God.

The Father’s business is not only done from the pulpit, in fact, it is largely done outside of it. Have you discovered the part apportioned to you in the Father’s business? Are you about it?

Go into today determined to engage in the Father’s business and to make it your lifelong vocation.

The Spirit Filled Life

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2633
1 John 4:4 (NIV) You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

The prince of this world is the devil. He is the one in this world and he has a lot of experience (see 1 John 4:4). By human strength(will and determination) no man can prevail against him. The reason why those born of God will overcome him is because the Holy Spirit that dwells within them is greater than the devil. The Spirit that dwells in the believer is so much greater than the devil that He was the one who created the devil and He is infinitely more powerful than the devil.

The devil knows that as long as a believer is filled with the Holy Spirit and walks in the Spirit, he doesn’t stand a chance against that believer. He will do everything possible to deceive the believer and distract him from the place of fellowship and communion with the Holy Spirit. He will do everything to cause the believer to break fellowship with the Spirit since he cannot do ANYTHING to cause the Holy Spirit to break fellowship with the believer.

We can see from Ephesians 5:18-21 that thanksgiving is an ingredient of a Spirit-filled life. An unthankful heart cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit because such a heart is not walking in the will of God. Thanksgiving in all things is the will of God for us in Christ Jesus (see 1 Thessalonians 5:18).

If the devil can get you to focus more on your challenges and become unthankful in your heart, he has succeeded in hindering you from being filled with the Spirit.

Go into today remembering to count your blessings and focus on the good in your life(Philippians 4:8). You can begin by thanking the Lord for forgiving your sins (see Psalm 103:1). You could never have been able to pay for that.

Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you to be thankful in all things.

Lesson From Lot's Family

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2632

Matthew 24:13 (KJV) “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Sodom and Gomorrah had gotten to the very peak of evil and wickedness in human history and God was going to rain down fire on them so the world could be purged of their wickedness. Lot, however, was a good man living in a wicked city, the wickedness of the people of the city vexed him every day (2 Peter 2:7). God, being the good God that He is, was bent on saving every good person in the city, and Lot and his family made the list, but when they kept dragging, the angels of God had to hurry them out of the city by holding their hands. Once they were out of the city, the angels said to them “escape for your lives, don't look back, keep moving until you arrive at your new destination" (see Genesis 19:17) and they all said “yes" and continued to walk away from the city. But Lot's wife chose to look back in defiance to the Angel's instruction and became a pillar of salt.

Our world is a corrupt place, yet like Lot and his family, we have to live here. The results of its corruption and wickedness will continue to cause us pain just like Sodom and Gomorrah kept vexing Lot. In Matthew 13:30, the Lord said, “Let both grow together until the harvest", however, there is blessedness for those who suffer and mourn because of this pain; “they shall be comforted" said the Lord in Matthew 5:4.

Also, God has not left us alone, he has sent the spirit of his son into our heart so we might be comforted by him during our passage in this wicked world (Galatians 4:6). However, just like Lot and his family were instructed to keep moving and not to look back, we also must keep moving and not look back, for it is he that shall endure unto the end that shall be saved (Matthew 24:13).

Go into today thinking about what Jesus said, “no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God" (Luke 9:62 KJV).

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me never to look away from you. Help me Lord to run this race to the end. Amen!

1 John 3:2-3 (KJV) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Joke knew that she was not as close to the Lord as her younger sister even though both of them were born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit. There were times that when Joke really wanted to know the mind of the Lord concerning an issue, she would have to ask her sister to pray for her and seek the face of the Lord.

When she asked her sister the secret of her robust relationship with the Lord, she realized that it was because her sister spent more time with the Lord, and was more submissive to His authority.

It is true that it is during the resurrection that our real [unlimited, powerful and glorious] nature as sons of God will be revealed(Romans 8:23), but before the resurrection is when we would build our relationship with the Lord as His sons.

Even though in this body of flesh, we do not have the capacity to walk in the fulness of our nature as sons of God, we already have the privilege to walk in fellowship with God as sons of God. During this time we spend in this body of flesh, we have the privilege of knowing God and becoming very close to Him. Those who would be closest to the Lord during His millennial reign are those who built fellowship and commitment to him in spite of the limitations of the flesh now. They would just continue that fellowship at a higher level.

The question today is: do you know the Lord? Do you know His voice? Do you have fellowship with Him?

One thing we would no longer be able to experience after the resurrection is the fellowship of his suffering(Phillipians 3:10). But know that it is those that suffer [with Him] that will reign with Him (see 2 Timothy 2:12).

Anytime you are inconvenienced, insulted, mistreated [and refuse to retaliate], persecuted, because of the testimony of Jesus Christ, it is recorded in heaven that you are suffering for and with Christ. Any inconvenient situation you endure that you wouldn't have endured if you did not belong to Christ, is recorded as suffering for and with Christ.

Go into today remembering that you are a son of God even now. Relate with God that way. Grow in the knowledge of God as much as you can now because the knowledge of God you have now will stay with you for all eternity.

Prayer: Lord, help me never forget that I am your son. Help me walk in the reality and power of sonship. Amen.

Are We All God's Sons?

Download Today's Audio☞ http://bit.ly/aud2630
John 1:12 (NET) “But to all who have received him – those who believe in his name – he has given the right to become God’s children".

Jesus told a story about a poor man named Lazarus who died and was carried by angels to Abraham's bosom and a rich man who lived sumptuously without regard for poor Lazarus who begged at his gate, the rich man also died and went to hell. In hell, the rich man called Abraham “Father Abraham" (Luke 16:24) and Abraham also called him “son" (Luke 16:25) but neither his acknowledgment of Abraham as father or Abraham's acknowledgment of him as son prevented him from going to or remaining in hell (See full story in Luke 16:19-31).

What exactly was the problem with this rich man who obviously was of the seed of Abraham? Abraham did not deny him, yet he was in hell. This is what Jesus said regarding this, “If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham" (John 8:39). So, he was in hell because he did not do the works of Abraham.

If there is more to being Abraham's son than just being of his race, In like manner, there is more to being God's son than just carrying the nomenclature “Christian".

In Matthew 7:21, Jesus said, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven". This means that a baptized, holy communion eating, tongue-speaking church-attending Christian who will not do the will of God is not a son of God.

God testifying of Jesus said, “this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17 KJV) - Jesus was God's beloved son because he pleased him. Are you God's son? Can God give similar testimony about you? Are you pleasing God? If your answer is not a resounding yes, it means you have some scores to settle with God. Turn to God in repentance and ask his forgiveness. Thereafter, seek to do only His will.

Go into today remembering that it is only those who do the will of God that will enter into God's kingdom.

Prayer: Help me Father to always do your will so I can always be your son in Jesus’ name. Amen!
