Matt. 20:25-28
"But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many"
From the bible text above, it is obvious that God's own view of greatness is not in position, power
or prestige; but it is actually in service (servant hood).
This is actually contrary to the world's view about greatness. The world terms a man great when he is rich, famous, and/or anointed, but these things do not necessarily relate to his greatness in God's view. God is more interested in people that are ready to serve than those with big titles who only want to be served.
A servant of God is not just one who is into a full-time ministry but one who is into full-time obedience to God. Servant hood is actually the platform for enthronement and empowerment.
Remember, "For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth" (2 Cor 10:18)
Go into today determining to serve God and humanity rather than being served, as this is actually the way to greatness in God's Kingdom. (see Matt. 23:11)
Prayer: heavenly Father, please give me the grace to serve just as Jesus did, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
