1 Peter
1:13-14
So think clearly and exercise self-control.
Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ
is revealed to the world.
Self-control
is something that you have to exercise because it may be quite difficult to
restrain your appetite (the flesh) especially if you have previously been used
to following its cravings.
I want you
to know that the Holy Spirit who now lives within you has given you the power
to control yourself and not let the devil take advantage of your appetite.
When you
control yourself you need to do this knowing that it is in preparation for the
revealing of Jesus Christ to the world; when you will reign with the lord Jesus
on the earth. This is a promise to all those who walk in the Holy Spirit who
has been given to be our seal and guarantee till that day of His appearing.
God wants
you to live a life that is beyond normal, He wants you to live a life filled with
supernatural manifestation of His power enabling you to do the things that you
normally do not have the power to do.
Prayer: Dear
Heavenly father, I worship you today and I thank you for your glorious name. I
ask that you give me the grace to walk in the Spirit and to no longer follow
the desires of the flesh. I pray o lord that you bless me with your wisdom that
I may serve you better on the earth. I pray this o God in Jesus glorious name.
