THE SEED OF ETERNAL LIFE 2

John 12:24-25 (MSG)
24 "Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. 25 In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you'll have it forever, real and eternal.

There was something remarkable about what the women who poured very expensive perfume on the feet of Jesus did (see John 12:3-8). To those who did not have spiritual understanding, it appeared she was wasting her precious resources on the Lord because the perfume was worth a whole year’s wages. It appeared that she was wasting her precious savings on the Lord, but she understood what she was doing and so did the Lord.

You see, in the kingdom of God, as you give up your life and resources for the purpose of Christ’s assignment, to those who have no spiritual understanding, it will appear you are wasting your life. But the real secret to gaining true life is giving your life to the Lord. Anyone who holds on to his life will lose it, but he that gives his life for the purpose of the gospel will gain eternal life. Eternal life does not begin to manifest only after the resurrection, it begins to manifest in this present life.

Go into today knowing that there is nothing you spend on Jesus that is wasted. You will gain several times more.

Prayer: Thank the Lord for giving you this life that you have. Ask the Lord to help you give it to Him and serve Him with it.
