2 PREPARING FOR THE BLESSING

Psalms 105:19
Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character. [NLT]

Joseph as a young man saw into his future and it was a great one. But this knowledge about his future also brought trials; his own brothers hated him and sold him as a slave. He suffered set-back; was imprisoned, forgotten and abandoned. Through it all Joseph was a faithful brother, servant and even a faithful and righteous prison inmate. Joseph’s dream eventually came true because he was always faithful to God.

The period between a dream and its fulfillment is a time to test one's character. Character is needed to sustain God's blessing, hence He teaches character first, before the blessing that comes from Him.

How is your character? Are you failing the character test? Have you turned those used to test you into your enemies?

Pass the test and be ready for a blessing; for I hear the sound of abundance.

1 Peter 5:6: Humble yourself therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time (KJV).

There is a time to be tried and tested, but there is another time to be exalted.

Go into today trusting the Holy Spirit to help you pass all tests. This is no time to water down your integrity; it is a time to build it up.

Prayer: help me father not to fail when I am tested, in Jesus' name. Amen -Dr James Emmanuel
