Eph 4:11-12[NET]
It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ

QUESTION: Do I have to leave my profession and go and become a preacher? Because I really want to spend the rest of my life serving the Lord.

ANSWER: Dear reader, God has called us all into various areas of life. His purpose is that wherever we are, we demonstrate His divine life and His righteousness. He wants us to be projectors of His divine life in this dying world.

Just as God has called some to edify and equip the saints for the work of the ministry, He has also called many to do the work of the ministry in the world. Seek His face to know where, when and how He wants you to serve Him. While you are at it, make sure wherever you are right now, you are doing all things your hands find to do as unto the Lord.

God’s plan is not for everyone to be ministers from a pulpit; His plan is for us to use our professions and businesses as platforms for serving Him. There are people that a church pastor or apostle cannot reach that you as a doctor or lawyer can reach because of your work. There are people that would listen to what you have to say, but wouldn’t be that open to a church preacher.

God’s plan is for us to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. This means we have to go out there and let our lights shine before men. We shouldn’t hide our light by restricting it to only the church environment.

As you go into today, ask the Lord to help you represent Him more accurately in every way. Amen.
