2 Cor 13:14
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. [KJV]

Amaka lived a dry, uneventful and beggarly Christian life because she did not truly understand the love of God. Indeed, she knew that ‘God loves us so much’, but she had not come to experience and have the revelation of God’s love for her. The reason for this was because she did not fully understand the grace of God. She had received a gospel watered down with the doctrine of works for righteousness. She did not fully understand the grace of the Lord Jesus.

It is worthy of note that in today’s Bible text, the grace of the Lord was mentioned first, before the love of the Father? I believe this is because you cannot fully experience and understand the love of the Father, if you have not had a revelation of the grace of Christ Jesus. This revelation ultimately leads to repentance and new birth into God’s family.

When we understand that though Christ was rich, yet for our sakes he stripped himself of His divine glory and became poor, so that through His poverty, we too can be made rich like He was in glory, we have started to understand His grace(2 Cor 8:9). When you have this revelation, you will understand that all you receive from the father is at Christ’s expense, not at your expense. You will then be able to understand and experience the fathering Love of God. You will now know that you have a father in heaven that cares for you and is very interested in the details of your life. This father wants you to be happy more than you want to be happy.

Go into today asking the Lord to reveal the dimensions of His love to you (see Eph 3:18).
