ABIDING IN CHRIST 2

John 15:4-5
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing. [KJV]

Yesterday, we examined the first part of Jesus' statement: “abide in me”. Now let's look at the second part: “and I in you”.

John 15:7 says 'If ye abide in me and MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU...' This means Jesus abides in us through His Word. The more of the revelational knowledge of the scriptures we have, the more of Jesus we have abiding in us.

John 1 reveals to us that Jesus is the word of God. When you take in the word into your spirit, you are actually letting Jesus abide in you because He is the word of God.

One way you can be sure your prayers will be answered is by abiding in Christ and letting Him abide in you by His word. See what Jesus says about this: "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, YE SHALL ASK WHAT YE WILL AND IT SHALL BE DONE UNTO YOU" (see Joh 15:7).

Go into today deciding to always feed your spirit with the word of God and make conscious effort to follow the precepts therein.

Prayer: My Father in heaven, thank You for Your word today. I ask for the grace to always study Your word and to obey it always. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
