INVITING GOD THROUGH THANKSGIVING

John 6:11
Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed the bread to those who were seated. He then did the same with the fish, as much as they wanted. [NET]

I once heard the story of a powerful servant of God who had a cook that was heavily possessed with unclean spirits. Each time she cooked for him, she would cast a spell on the food. But before he ate his food every time, he would give thanks and the spell would be removed. Unknown to her, the man of God knew all she was doing, but never fired her.

When her day of deliverance came, she was the one who confessed all she had been doing and how she would see her demonic spell leave the food each and every time. His secret was thanksgiving.

Have you noticed that Jesus gave thanks each time he broke bread? Have you noticed that He also gave thanks before he raised Lazarus from the dead? (See John 11:41).  One of the easiest ways to usher God into a situation is to give Him thanks. When you acknowledge God by thanking Him, you are inviting His presence into whatever you are thanking Him for.

As you go into today, determine to magnify God in your life by being thankful in all things. This is the easiest way to invite God and see His mighty power at work in your life. Read 1 Thess 5:18 and Psalm 22:3 in KJV.

Prayer confession: from now henceforth, I will thank the Lord in all situations; I will experience a greater dimension of His power and glory in my life. Amen.
