1 John 5:14

And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. [NET]

Daniel loved Isabella so much. He prayed that the Lord would hasten things concerning their getting married. He had proposed to her, but her father bluntly refused an engagement between them. Daniel wondered why God did not answer his prayer. He didn’t know that Isabella was not born again at all; she was only pretending and hoping to seduce him, make him claim responsibility for her pregnancy and marry her.

One very important aspect about prayer is knowing that your prayer is in agreement with God’s will. One way to know if something is God’s will is by evaluating it using the written word of God. For example, God forgives our sins and heals our diseases (see Psa 103:3).

Every good and perfect gift is from God(James 1:17). ‘Good’ is defined using the standards of God’s word. God is perfect and he wants us to be perfect like He is (see Matt 5:48). ‘Perfect’ is defined as anything agreeing with the Holy nature of God; it does not involve unrighteousness.

As you go into this week, ask the Lord to transform you more into the image of Christ; so that you may be able to prove what the will of God is in every situation (see Ron 12:2).

Prayer: Father, please help me walk always in your will. Amen. Not Born Again? Tap: http://bit.ly/1iTOmol
