ABOUT CHRISTMAS 2

Matthew 2:11
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. [KJV]

We've seen from our previous studies that Christmas is not just a season of merriment but it's a season of the celebration of the most important man that has ever worked upon the surface of the earth.

Usually, in a birthday celebration, it is customary to present gifts to the celebrant. This was exactly what the wise men did when they found Jesus. They didn't just celebrate Him; they presented Him with gold, frankincense and myrrh.

There are three important gifts you can present to Jesus.

The first is your life. For this reason He was born, to reconcile us to God (see 2 Cor 5:18). He became the Son of man so that we might become the sons of God. Every other thing is meaningless if we don't first make Him our Lord and savior. If you have not made Christ Lord of all, you have not made Him Lord at all. He should be the Lord of every aspect of your life and not just some aspects.

The second gift we can give to Jesus is to lead others to accept Him as Savior. It gives Him much pleasure when one sinner repents and turns to Him (see Luke 5:7). The third gift we can present to Him is our worship, both in words and by our lifestyles. We were made to give Him pleasure. Go into today determined to Worship God more.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the birth of Your son Jesus Christ. Please give me the grace to please Him more every day. Amen
