WALKING IN THE VISION

LISTEN TO AUDIO VERSION

Heb 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

NIV

Yesterday, Ubokudom and I had a very revealing conversation on the topic of vision for life. We discovered that one of the reasons the patriarchs of the faith like Abraham, Joseph, David etc. succeeded was because they started out their walk with God and ordered their lives with a God given vision.

Without vision people cast off restraint (see Prov 29:18), if you do not have a vision for life, you may be able to do anything. One of the reasons why people fail in life is because they never started out their Christian life with a God given vision in view.

A weight is anything that slows you down and hinders you on your path to spiritual progress and the best way to live above weights and the sin that easily entangle is to go about this race with the vision of your destiny at heart- Jesus. Let there always be a constant desire to express Christ in your life.

Just like Jesus had a vision that kept Him going (He saw the joy that was set before Him and despised the shame that was to be His greatest weight) we are to do the same. Jesus is our destiny; He is the one we all aspire to be like. God’s purpose is to make us sons in the likeness of Christ.

1 John 3:2-3 says “2 But friends, that's exactly who we are: children of God. And that's only the beginning. Who knows how we'll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we'll see him — and in seeing him, become like him. 3 All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus' life as a model for our own.”(TMB)

Go into today determined to order your life by your God given and facilitated vision and mission statement.

Prayer: Dear Lord God. I pray you give me grace to always walk with my vision in mind. Help me never to fail, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
