HOW FAITH WORKS PART 4

image

LISTEN TO AUDIO VERSION

Rom 10:17

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

NASU

Your spirit, soul and body all work together to order the total man. The things that you hear with your bodily ears go into your soul. Your soul processes these things and decides whether to accept them as truth or not. Your soul has certain standards with which it determines whether the information you hear is acceptable as true to you or not. When your soul approves an information and accepts it as true, it now goes to your spirit, if your soul does not accept an information, it is rejected by you, it has no effect on your spirit .Your soul receives from your body and your spirit receives from your soul.

When your spirit accepts something, it means your soul has accepted it already. It is only what your spirit accepts that can have effect on you as a human being.

One of the things God will do for you by His word is to transform your heart by the renewing of your mind. The natural configuration of the human mind is such that it’s standards are opposed to the word and will of God. So when the word of God comes, before it gets to the spirit, the soul has already screened it off because the standards with which the soul judges truth is contrary to the word of God. These standards are strong holds.

To be continued tomorrow…

Go into today letting the word of God shape your philosophy of life.

Prayer: Dear lord God, I thank you for the grace I have to be transformed by your word. I pray your help me walk fully with this renewed mind.
