Matthew 5:4
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. KJV
A man once lived in a foreign land; he had only been there a couple of days when he realized the perversion in the land. They practiced all forms of vices and their immorality reached heights that are even indecent to describe. But this man lived in this land as a righteous man, his daughters were even virgins, he lived a completely different life and was not influenced by the corruption and wickedness in the land, he mourned daily and wished the people would stop being evil. He was separated and was a shining light; a moral beacon.
2 Peter 2:7-8 say: But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. 8. Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day. NLT
Lot gave us a perfect understanding of the word “mourn". God is aware of the present corruption in the world; he wants us to be incorruptible. Our attitude should not be “join them if you can't beat them". We are called to live righteously and escape the coming judgment.
Go into today determined to live an incorruptible life, even if it means you will face rejection, pain and suffering. Remember that God will judge every unrighteousness but will comfort the righteous.
Prayer: thank God for bringing you to this day.
Pray that He will forgive all your past unrighteousness.
Ask for grace to remain righteous even in the midst of temptations.
May the peace of the Lord be with you, in Jesus name. Amen
