Mal 3:3-4

3 He will act like a refiner and purifier of silver and will cleanse the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer the Lord a proper offering. 4 The offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord as in former times and years past.

KJV

In the Old Testament, the Levites were the priests ordained to offer sacrifices to the lord and make atonements for themselves and the people; they were the ones who knew how to make supplications to avert distress which the sin of the people may have brought.

The only problem was that their sacrifices and supplications would not be accepted if they themselves were unclean.

Our bible text today reveals to us that the lord cleanses them so that they will offer proper offerings.

In the New Testament, everyone who is born again is a royal priest before God (see 2 Pet 2:9). We are to make supplications for ourselves and our families, nations, etc., but our supplications will only be accepted if we ourselves have been purged of all iniquity. Jesus came to be our righteousness so that we would have access to God's throne where we obtain grace to help us live above sin, we are not to continue to sin; abusing this grace.

Go into today taking concrete steps to overcome anything in your life that is contrary to God's will. Go to Gods throne to obtain mercy and grace to help you do this; that you may boldly intercede for yourself, your family and your nation.

Prayer: Thank you father because I get to come before your holy throne. I ask for more grace to help me walk accurately with you, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
