FRUITFULNESS, GOD'S PERSPECTIVE

John 15:8

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

KJV

Sometime during Jesus' earthly ministry, He became hungry and finding a fig tree He expected fruit from it, but finding none, He became angry and cursed the tree which withered immediately. But it was told in the same story that it was not time for figs to have fruit (See Matt 21:18-19). Why should Jesus find fruit when He knows it is not time for fruit, why did he curse the fig tree, what lesson is He teaching?

The fig tree could represent individual Christians, and God's expectation is for us to be fruitful whether in season or out of season, He expects us to manifest the fruit of the spirit at all times. He is aware of the limitations our flesh poses; hence He gave His Spirit who is not limited by the flesh.

How then can one live a life that is always fruitful? It is by believing God and depending on the HOLY SPIRIT who has no limitations.

Remember that to glorify God, you must be fruitful and this must be always.

Go into today trusting the Holy Spirit to help you lead a more fruitful life.

Prayer: Help me father to remain fruitful all my life. I receive grace for fruitfulness in Jesus' name. Amen.
