STIR UP THE GIFTS IN YOU

AUDIO VERSION: http://po.st/HUZnzk

Num 11:26

And the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke to Moses. Then he gave the seventy elders the same Spirit that was upon Moses. And when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied. But this never happened again.  NLT

A young boy gave his life to Jesus when he was about 10 years old, he spoke in tongues that day, but another 12 years passed without him speaking in tongues again. It was after an argument he had about “speaking in tongues" that he remembered he once spoke in tongues. He began to speak in tongues after that day. In his case, the argument was a reminder which stirred up the gift that laid fallow in him.

In our text, God poured His Spirit on those men, the Spirit activated the gift of prophecy in them but sadly, they never prophesied again. Note that the gifts and calling of God are without repentance (see Romans 11:29) hence, the lack of continuity is the result of a want on our part.

God gave you gifts when you gave your life to him. Have you found them out? Are you using them? The gifts of God are there to ease our journey with him; they also help us to be effective in our Kingdom duties. Paul wrote this to Timothy “This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you" 2 Timothy 1:6 NLT.

Note brethren that the same words apply to you. Stir up the gifts in you; use them; be effective.

Go into today remembering that Maximizing one's gift is a sure way to fruitfulness and fulfillment.

Prayer: Lord, help me to maximize your gifts in me.

Read Romans 12:6-10.

Take time to pray for yourself.
