2 Pet 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the honor both now and on that eternal day. NET

Even though growth is natural, there are certain things you do to ensure that growth continues. For example, we feed children and we know one of the results of this is that they will grow.

In God's kingdom, grace is your strength and ability to do work. If you see a man walking in great power from God and doing things that you cannot do, it is because he has grace that you do not have. The good news is that everyone can grow in grace, but does everyone get to do this?

Grace is received by faith (see Eph 2:8a). Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. In 2 Pet 1:2, we see that grace is multiplied through the knowledge of God and of the lord Jesus Christ. This knowledge is experiential and living. It is not merely the mental knowledge about who Jesus is but it is an experience of his person.

As you go into today, determine to take practical steps to know the lord more. You can get materials that teach you His ways so you can walk in His reality. Prayer is very important in knowing God because prayer is talking and communing with Him. Determine to turn aside to seek the lord’s face in prayers from time to time. Fasting too will greatly help.

Prayer: Thank you father for another opportunity to grow in my knowledge of you. I pray you help me and teach me to grow in grace, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
