Matt 11:12

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

KJV

The Abrahams found a huge rat in their master bedroom. It really perturbed them because they wondered how it got there in the first place; It must have been when the carpenter came to work and left the back door open’ Helen said. it was quite troubling for them because they couldn’t help but wonder what else might have crawled into the house. They did all they knew to get rid of the rat. They eventually decided to give it rat poison- this killed the rat and they got rid of its carcass.

So many times we have situations that make us remember that there are unwanted visitors that would come uninvited. There are habits that could come because we were not guarding against them. What do we do in such situations? We take strong measures until we see the stranger gone. Many times, Christians take such measures against physical enmity but fail to do so against spiritual enmity.

If there is a new habit in your life that is not in agreement with your new nature as a child of God, do as the Abrahams did. Do not rest until the stranger is gone. This is what being violent is all about, It begins with you; you have to be hard on yourself to grow.

The best way to do away with besetting sins, impulsive habits that are sinful or any such thing is to face it head on. You may need to seek help from your pastor or someone you trust. You may need to pray long and even fast. Whatever it is, do all you can till you see that stranger go away.

The greatest poison I know against such strangers is to soak yourself in the un adulterated word from God.

Go into today with filling your heart with the word of God under and atmosphere of prayer. This is a sure way to poison an unwanted guest in your life.

Prayer: heavenly father, I give you all the praise and glories for all that you have for me. I praise you for giving another chance to partake in your kingdom. I pray you give me the strength to grow in the kingdom. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
