CLEANSING FROM SIN

1 John 1:7-8

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

KJV

When a man walks around without adequate light, he is likely to stumble on things and probably fall. If he falls, he falls as a result of darkness which is an absence of light.

Sin is a result of spiritual darkness; an absence of God’s authority because God is the light.

Because the world is covered with darkness, our walk in this world will cause us to come in contact with the consequence of darkness: sin. By this I am not referring to Christians doing iniquity which is a willful disobedience against the law of life: God’s law, I am saying that there are times one could come in contact with sin without even knowing it, because sin is like an ink that stains. When a Christian commits iniquity, it is like someone intentionally staining himself, but this is not what I am talking about when I say one cannot walk without the stain of sin in this world.

The blood of Jesus continually cleanses and makes us perfect if we walk in the light. It is just like wearing a garment that automatically expels dirt when it comes in contact with it. That garment can never be dirty.

The key to living a sinless life is walking in the Spirit; walking with a God consciousness who is the light.

Go into today determined to walk in love and fellowship with brethren. Let the light so shine that men will glory God on account of you.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly father. I thank you for your love and you word you have given me today. I pray that you help me to constantly walk in the light and never again in darkness. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen
