But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Before Laide became born again, she used to tell lies habitually. But after she became born again, she still told lies. She was growing in her fellowship with the Lord and the brethren, but it had not come to her attention that this was an issue in her life. But as she continued to grow and walk in the Light, the light of God revealed to her that she wasn’t a truthful person. She became aware of this spot and wrinkle. She was no longer comfortable and knew this had to change. Her conscience now cautioned her if she told a lie because the light had revealed this spot on her garment. She couldn’t continue without this stain removed. As she agreed that it was a sin and acknowledged it before the Lord, she received cleansing and it no longer had power over her.

One could wear a cloth and not know that there are stains on it as long as he walks in little light. But as he progressively walks in brighter light, the light reveals the stains, and he is no longer comfortable until the stains are removed.

As a believer walks in the light, all the spots and wrinkles are revealed, and as he acknowledges them, he is purified. If he refuses to acknowledge them and continues in them, his conscience is defiled, and he no longer has the boldness to fellowship with God.

Go into today remembering that as we walk with the Lord, we are being changed into his image from glory to glory. Anything in us that is contrary is revealed by the light, and the blood washes it away.
