Eph 6:5

Slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart as to Christ

In the early days of the church, many converts were wealthy people who had slaves that were also converts. Even though true Christianity practically brings an end to both spiritual and physical slavery, the reality on ground was that many of those slaves didn't have anywhere else to go apart from being with their masters. God had a word concerning their conduct; God wanted them to express His nature of meekness.

Whether you are working for someone or you are in a system where you have people over you to whom you are accountable, God's instruction is that you be obedient and loyal. God does not want us going about being employees who are insubordinate to our superiors at work.

There is a principle here; an obedient heart to your absolute master (Christ Jesus) creates a character of obedience to constituted human authority. If you cannot obey your masters that you can see, how will you obey your master that you cannot see?

Go into today remembering that God is interested in, and watches over every detail of your life, this also means you can never be forsaken in life (see Ps 37:25).

Prayer: Thank you father for your love and grace. I pray you help me walk according to all your precepts and commands, In Jesus name I pray. Amen
