Rom 12:6

And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith.

I have written on this verse before but still feel compelled to write on it again. Spiritual gifts are not earned, they are received, just like you do not pay for a physical gift or else it would no longer be a gift but a prize or a wage. Even though spiritual gifts are not earned, they are received because of right positioning. For example, it is easier for you to receive gifts from a king if he is your father than if you are his servant, and it is easier for you to receive gifts from your father if you have a good relationship with him.

One thing that makes for a great relationship with God is faith. Faith is the connection line between man and God(see Heb 11:6). The more faith you have in God, the more conscious of God you are; the more conscious of God you are, the more you fear Him; the more you fear God, the more you obey and please Him; the more you please God, the better your relationship with Him; which creates an express receiving of gifts.

Go into today determined to build your faith by practicing the word of God. Let God into every detail of your life by acknowledging Him in all you do (see Prov 3:6); this will build your relationship with the Father.

Prayer: I thank you heavenly father for your word today. I pray you help me grow in my relationship with you. That I might also grow in grace, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
