Luke 8:22-24.
22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.24And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. KJV.
Today's passage shows that you may be born again and yet panic when faced with difficulties. The mere presence of difficulties does not signify the absence of Christ.
God expects that we call on him whenever we are faced with difficulties, He may not intrude if we refuse to call upon him. When you call on the lord, you show that you trust Him and depend totally on Him. Calling on Him means calling on Him alone, not on Him and others.
Learn to call upon him when faced with trials and temptations. Cast your cares upon Him for He cares for you (1 Pet 1:7).As you go into this year, remember to call on the lord and cast all your cares and fears upon Him.
Prayer: thank you Jesus for being so close to me. I receive grace to call upon you and completely cast every care upon you, in Jesus name. Amen
