Eph 4:11-13
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Someone asked “must I be and evangelist, pastor, prophet or apostle to serve the lord?” No, not everyone will be one of these but everyone who is in the body of Christ will serve the lord one way or another.
The reason the lord gave some these offices is because they are to prepare His people for the works of service, so that the body of Christ will be built up for perfection; expressing the fullness of Christ.
The reason why there is a pastor in your life is so that you would have spiritual care and accountability; So that you will grow to the measure of the fullness of Christ. The will of God is not for your denominations to highjack your gifts and callings but that the entire body of Christ will benefit from the office He has called you to.
Can you imagine a tree branch having only one leaf? So it is when a denomination is based on the office, gifts and calling of a single individual, the growth of the people will be greatly limited.
If you have been called into one of these five offices in the body of Christ, it is a great privilege to serve the lord from such a capacity and I will urge you to live a life that is worthy of the calling to which you have been called- be completely humble and gentle; patient, considerate etc. (see Eph 4:1-3).
Prayer: Heavenly father, I thank you for your word this day. I pray that I may walk worthy of the calling to which you have called me; help me fulfill my destiny in you, In Jesus name. Amen
