Matt 23:9
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
KJV
In the kingdom of Heaven, God alone is father; father in this context means source and sustainer. God is to be our only source and sustainer. That is why Jesus says to call no one father but God- you are not to look on anyone else as your source and sustainer but God.
If indeed God is our only source and sustainer, we cannot again see ourselves: Our skills, qualifications, abilities and talents as what sustain us; they are all tools that God uses to sustain us. They, including people that God sends to help us in certain seasons of our lives are but tools He uses. Our help comes only from the lord the maker of heaven and earth (see psalm 121: 1-2).
When you begin to look at anything you have; have earned or any relationship as a source for sustenance at any level or point in life, you are transgressing the government of Christ and limiting His access to manifest His mighty power in those aspects of your life because there can only be one king in any territory.
Go into today assured that your father in heaven watches you and keeps you. He is the one who supplies all your needs and protects you. He is your source and sustainer.
Prayer: Thank you lord God for being father to me. I pray you help me to daily walk in this consciousness. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
