WHO IS THE FOOL?

Download Audio Version☞ bit.ly/audio1749

Psalm 14:1 (KJV)
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Joe had developed an attitude of not showing up for work because he felt activities at work weren't important unless their boss was around. He was warned several times about this attitude but failed to listen until one day, a sudden roll call was carried out. It was later revealed that their boss had always been at work observing them even at times when they believed he was away because his car was not in the parking lot. Many were sacked as a result of their absence and negligence and Joe was one of them.

Many have viewed today's Bible verse only from the perspective of an atheist or agnostic's refusal to accept the existence or knowledge of God, but truly, it means more for the believer.

For instance, one reason many have the habit of going late to church is because they lack understanding of this scripture. If they truly believe that according to God's word, The Lord will be present in their midst when they gather in His name, they would take an appointment with Him more seriously than they would take an appointment with their governor or president (Pro 23:7).

He who comes to God must believe that He is: he must believe in the reality of His presence and in the immutability of His Word, otherwise, such a person's claim is deceptive, unwise and no different from that of demons who according to the Bible, also believe in God (Heb 11:6, James 2:19-26).

The person that has truly said in his heart that there is God is one who is moved with holy fear to do what God commands, and who avoids living in sin. This is wisdom and it starts first by the infilling of oneself with the Word and by acting out one's professed faith in obedience (Heb 11:7, Pro 9:10, Col 3:16).

Go into today, reminded that empty claims about God or His promises do not make one wiser than others but rather, obeying His Word is what really matters.
