2 Peter 1:4 (KJV)
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Dare was walking with a defiled conscience because of a sin he refused to repent of. He needed divine healing and wanted to receive it by faith. He tried to apply all the principles of hearing the word to build faith in His spirit, but faith was not coming because he was walking in a defiled conscience. In 1 Tim 1:19, we see that faith and a good conscience always work together. Faith does not build up in the heart of a person who contineus in a defiled conscience. That is the reason why in James 5:16, in order for the believer to recieve his divine healing, he needs to confess his faults. This deals with his defield conceince.

From today’s Bible verse, we see that in order to receive the manifestation of the divine nature through God’s promises, we have to have first escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. This is possible by the power of God’s grace. And this power is supplied by the indwelling Holy Spirit.

As you go into today, ask the Lord to help you get rid of anything in your life that causes defilement of conscience, so that your faith can grow and you can walk in all the promises that usher in various manifestations of the divine nature.
