2 Corinthians 6:14-15 (NKJV)
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
When Dara was a young believer on campus, there were mature believers around Him. They became his closest friends, and because of this he beheld them and became more like them. But in truth, it was Christ he was beholding through them. These his friends were filled with [the Spirit of] Christ and as he beheld them, he became more like Christ.
The reason why Jesus tells His disciples to go into the world and make disciples is because He is the one who fills us and controls our lives; therefore anyone who follows us will actually be following Christ.
That was the reason Apostle Paul could tell the Corinthian Believers to 'follow me as I follow Christ'(1 Corinthians 11:1).
If you are yoked with unbelievers, you unknowingly have to behold the unclean spirit in them, but when you are yoked with believers who are filled with the Spirit of Christ, you will behold Christ through them and become more like Christ. Remember that a person becomes like the one he constantly beholds.
People in the world may not be able to see Christ right now, but they can see you. If Christ lives in you and reigns in you, they will see Christ through you. The reason why God saved us is to make us sons after the image of Christ (see John 1:12, 1 Cor 6:17-18, Heb 2:10).
Go into today remembering that one way to behold Christ [and become more like Him] is through fellowship with those who are filled with His Spirit.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to help you live a life that is filled and controlled by His Spirit.
