1 John 3 (NET)
Dear
friends, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet been
revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we
will see him just as he is.
It was easy
for Dara to believe today's Bible verse because of His personal experience. He
observed that the more he beheld the Lord trough His word, the more he was
transformed to be like Him in his inner man. There were certain vices and
weights he just realized he no longer had an appetite for because of this.
Many
believers struggle with sins and are unstable because they do not behold the
Lord (see Psalm 16:8). As you behold the Lord you become more holy because He
is Holy; you become more powerful, more loving, more merciful, kinder, more
patient, more humble, wiser, more dependable, and more truthful. These are all
attributes of the Lord and you will become more of these things by continually beholding
Him in your heart.
One of the
easiest ways through which you can behold the Lord is through His word.
What is
going to happen during the resurrection is that we will now have the ability to
behold the Lord as He is, and as a result of this, fully become like Him. This
is total spiritual and bodily transformation.
In this
world, we have the opportunity to behold Him with our Spirits and with our
minds, and that is why we are to be transformed to become like Him in our
hearts. But during the resurrection, we will behold Him with our [physical] bodies
and thus become like Him [physically] too.
Go into
today knowing that you can be spiritually powerful with the same superior power
of Christ because right now you can behold Him in your heart through His word,
prayer and Christian fellowship.
