Luke 10:21 (AMP)
In that same hour He rejoiced and gloried in the Holy Spirit and said, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have concealed these things [relating to salvation] from the wise and understanding and learned, and revealed them to babes (the childish, unskilled, and untaught). Yes, Father, for such was Your gracious will and choice and good pleasure.

The above is same thing Paul spoke of in 1 Corinthians 1:19&20; even unto the end of that chapter. (Most of what Paul wrote in His epistles is an inspired commentary on the words of Jesus, the law and the prophets; and whenever you hear folks telling you to read nothing but the epistles, you are about to lose out on the Life in the word of God)

I have found that Christians who read the Bible by majoring on individual Greek words have more knowledge, but those who read the Bible by comparing with contemporary English versions have more understanding.

So, word study without recourse to the Spirit of God and the knowledge of the whole text in plain language causes what is clear to the simple believing reader to be hidden from the dissecting theologian, the scribe, and the brilliant debaters and disputers .

There is NOTHING in the individual word that can change the contextual meaning of any truth except there is a preconceived lie at work.

Using the contrived meaning of a word to cancel out the context of a passage and alter other passages that confirm that passage has brought some to their present low estate. There are several examples of this mistake in certain doctrinal circles.

Let us not be blind guides, straining at insects and swallowing whole camels (Matthew 23:24)...perpetually missing the whole point, which is love from a pure heart, a good and clear conscience, and a sincere faith.
