ARE YOU A WORSHIPER?

Prayer for the sick in Today’s Audio Version:http://bit.ly/1R6o0Pj

Matt 8:1-2
When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshiped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. [KJV]

We can see from our main text that great multitudes followed Jesus and one leper worshiped Him. This is not the first time the Bible would show how multitudes followed Jesus. The people followed Jesus because of His miracles (Mat. 4:24-25, Mat. 9:8), His insightful teachings (Mat. 13:2-3), His fame (Luk. 5:15) and His provisions (Mat. 14:19).

We can deduce that while majority followed Him, only a few truly worshiped Him. We can also deduce that there must be a way to worship that is very personal and not known to many. Jesus Himself corroborated this when He said in John 4:23 'But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.'

Even now, many people are simply 'followers of Christ'. They are fascinated by His personality, His doctrines, His promises. They follow Him solely for the benefits. Because their primary focus is what He gives to them, they never really know who He is to them. They are not worshipers in truth.

It is time to ask ourselves 'am I following Christ with the multitudes or am I a true worshiper?' Like the leper, worshipers call Him 'Lord' from their hearts because they see how much their worth comes from Him. The leper knew only Christ could make him clean.

Bow your heart right now and focus on Christ's worthiness. Worship Him in the beauty of His holiness and go into the day in that grace.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, keep me constantly in true worship of the Lord. Amen.
