STANDING IN THE EVIL DAY 2

Eph 6:13

For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand. [NET]

While Segun was in prison, he prayed and kept believing that the Lord will help him. It was insinuated that he should give the police officers a bride to release him, but Segun kept his faith in the Lord. He knew that offering a bride simply meant he was forsaking his faith in the Lord.

Segun was released on day 3 and he received an apology from the local police chief. Segun then learnt that the government really wasn't responsible for his arrest; that one powerful religious leader who felt threatened by Segun actually  facilitated the arrest. The day Segun was released, he got a call from a western multinational company operating in Shanghai. The owners of this company were Christians and they’d heard about how Segun was treated. They offered him a similar portfolio to the one he had in the company that wrongfully terminated his contract, but with a much better remuneration and less work hours per week. This meant Segun now had more time and resources to serve the Lord in Shanghai.

How to know that you are still standing is by your faith in God; do you still take your decisions from a standpoint of faith in God or from a standpoint of sights and circumstances? (See 2 Cor 5:7).

Go into today knowing that God brings light from every darkness in your life (see 2 Cor 4:6). As you depend on Him; take up the Whole armor of God by walking in the knowledge of His will.

· Pray that the Lord will help you keep your faith in Him, that you will never act in a way that shows lack of faith in Him
