Matt. 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
KJV
The ministry of Jesus was characterized by intense and consistent prayers.
Jesus, although the son of God, overcame all the temptations He encountered because He was consistently watching and praying.
These two words are justly linked together. Watching which means taking heed and constantly checking one's self and stand in God through God's word, is not enough to keep us from falling. Jesus' recommendation is watching and praying.
It's true that a Christian without a consistent prayer and bible study life will fall anytime. (See 1 Cor. 10:12)
Go into today determined to develop a consistent bible study and prayer time, as this is the only way to keep standing.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I ask for the grace to keep watch and to pray daily, in Jesus name amen.
