1 John 1:5
Now this is the gospel message we have heard from him and announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. [NET]

At age 19, Damian was already a drug addict. He had been arrested three times and was serving five years in prison. He had no skills, no proper education and was from a poor family. Even His mother no longer believed he would amount to anything in life because she wasn’t sure he wouldn’t commit a worse crime after coming out of prison.

Everything changed when Damian accepted Christ in prison. He became a new person. For the first time in his life he could focus and be productive. When he got out of prison, he went back to school and proceeded to college. He graduated as the best in his class and even became a leader in church.

By the time Damian graduated from college, all his friends from childhood were either dead, missing, or back in prison. But Damian had come in contact with Light and his life was positively transformed. The Light drove away the darkness that filled his heart from when he was a child.

God is light. Any life that lets Him in would experience transformation and glory. This is the gospel message: Because of Christ, God’s light can enter into your life.

When you invite Christ into your life, you have invited light, and darkness goes away.

Go into today determining to let Jesus rule every department of your life. You will experience a glorious transformation because of this.

Prayer: Thank God for lovingly allowing us to be partakers in His light.
