Imitate God

Eph 5:1-2
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. 2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

No matter how much a goat tries, it can never imitate you in the way you talk or the way you walk. No matter how much an ant tries, it will never be able to accurately imitate you in anything because it has a different nature from you.
For you to be told to imitate God is an honor. One thing I should quickly point out is that this text is addressed strictly to those who are God’s dear children; those who are born again, who have accepted Jesus Christ not only as their savior but also as the Lord of their lives.
Because you are a child of God, God has given you the ability and the power to imitate Him and be like Him. God doesn’t want you to be ordinary. Like Him He wants you to be extra ordinary.
One of the hallmarks of the nature of God is that He loves. Because you are a child of God, you have received God’s nature to love. When you love you are acting like God; making yourself superior and projecting the glorious nature of God.
Give someone love today and let the kingdom of God come through you.
Dear Father, I thank you for your word today. I pray that today your Spirit will remind me every moment to imitate you. Thank you Holy Father for answering my prayer, in Jesus name. Amen.
