Ephesians 6:4 (NET)
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but raise them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Dare hated Christianity because of the way his father treated them. Indeed, His father claimed to be bringing them up in the ‘way of the Lord’ but all he did to them was to constantly provoke them to anger and rebellion. He had an ego problem and would usually take it out on his children.

Some children of believers have grown rebellious against the gospel because of the way their Christian fathers treated them.

This is a message to fathers. You cannot bring up your children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord if you habitually provoke them to anger. The fact that they are children does not mean they do not have feelings.

Parental discipline should contain the balance of love and firmness. It should not be abusive or provocative.

If you are a father or mother, remember that you have a trust before God to bring up your children in His way.
Ask the Lord to give you the wisdom to do this effectively.
