Matthew 11:28-30 (NET) Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry.”

Olamide used to struggle to live a Holy life. He knew he needed to be holy but he just couldn't keep up with the demands of holiness. Lust and pride were still very big distractions in his life.

But after he decided to learn from the Lord and become more humble and gentle, he entered into the "sabbath rest" of the Lord. He found that because of a fundamental change in nature, he no longer struggled to be holy. He no longer struggled to walk in the divine nature, and sin was now alien to his soul. Hebrews 4:9-11 talks about entering the rest of God. This is the safeguard for falling into disobedience (see Hebrews 4:11). The Lord reveals in today's Bible verses the key to entering this rest. It is following His example of humility and gentleness.

As we strive to walk in the nature of Christ and put away childish things, let's remember that the two most dominant attributes of Christ's nature are humility and gentleness. The two most dominant attributes of the Adamic sinful nature are pride and self-centeredness. Remember, the key to entering your rest is learning of Christ and following His example of meekness and gentleness.

Go into today remembering that when these roots of iniquity(pride and self-centeredness) have been dealt with in our hearts, we would no longer struggle to be holy. We would enter our rest and cease from our own works. As a result of this, the grace(power) of God will flow freely in our lives.
