Luke 18:1 (KJV)
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint

Jane thought that prayer only meant coming to ask God for what she needed or wanted, she therefore limited her prayers to whenever she wanted something or was in trouble. Whenever she was not having a need, she did not pray.

Jane observed that she could not live above sin. Although whenever she prayed she felt God’s presence, this never lasted. She always wondered about the mystery of her spiritual instability until she met Lilian, who showed her that she was to pray always to stay spiritually above. This truth changed her life.

Most believers have not overcome sin and have made only little spiritual progress because they have not learned to pray always. Prayer is communicating with God and staying in His presence. It should be done without ceasing (1Thess 5:15). God wants us to talk to Him about everything we do, He wants to be involved in every decision we make. This is the only way not to make mistakes or fall for the devices of the devil.

Men ought always to pray and not to faint! When we stop praying we begin to faint.

Pray instead of complaining about your problems. Tell God first before telling your friend. Pray when you’re happy, pray when you’re sad, pray in the morning, pray in the noon and night, pray at meal, pray at work-pray without ceasing. This is the way to access your abundant life.

Go into today remembering that whenever you pray, the Holy Spirit comes to your aid and helps you overcome sin and not fall under the burden of the day.

Prayer: Ask God to help you live a life of prayer.
