Almost every feature from the gender and height to the color of the skin and eyes (pupils) are determined by specific arrangements of DNA called genes.
These arrangements are so specific that a little change in them can cause disease.
These little changes are called mutations. Mutations are common, but the body is normally able to correct most of them.
Cancers are caused by multiple mutations in the genetic code. One mutation alone is unlikely to lead to cancer. It takes multiple mutations over a lifetime to cause cancer. This is why cancer occurs more often in older people. One mutation may not cause cancer, but it may still be quite bad.
Like mutations, little changes in the word of God or the doctrine of salvation can be harmless or deadly. Unlike mutations, they are never truly beneficial.
Once you find one thing in the doctrinal chain that goes directly against the word of God, irrespective of the 99 percent similarity, it is a wrong doctrine.
Go into today remembering that the reason many believe error is that they never got through reading the Bible before they were hit with a wrong sequence of truth. Bear in mind that majority of the doctrine will still be the same with the truth, but those little alterations are enough to produce an unruly and unwieldy cancer.
Ask the Lord to fill you with the knowledge of His will and help you discern what is right and what is wrong.
