GOD IS JUDGE 2

Matthew 7:1 (NET)
Do not judge so that you will not be judged.

Kemi wondered why things were not working out the way they used to. She decided to take out time to seek the face of the Lord concerning this. She found that the reason was that she had become very judgmental. This attitude was hindering the flow of grace in her life.

If a Christian exerts his or her faith accordingly, he can successfully declare death on his human enemies. But in so doing, he has taken upon himself the awesome responsibility of doing what only God can do rightly. He is judging other people created in the image of God like him. That is God's responsibility.

You see, when you declare judgment against a person, your judgment will most likely be harsh and severe, or unbalanced at best. The implication of this is that you have set yourself up for the same standards of judgment from God. ‘For by the standard you judge, you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive’ Matthew 7:2 (NET).

One thing capable of hindering people from receiving the forgiveness of God is when they do not forgive others who have sinned against them. In refusing to forgive others, they show that they do not acknowledge God's grace and forgiveness (see Matt 6:15). When we choose to judge other human beings in any way, God uses our own standards to judge us. That usually does not work out well for us.

Go into today remembering that God is judge and He will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil (see Ecclesiastes 12:14). Enter into God’s rest and let Him do the rest.

Prayer: Ask God to forgive you for every way you may have judged people.
