Matt 28:19-20 [NET]
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Ele was the one who preached to Tina, but Ele knew that if no one discipled Tina, she might not grow into what God had planned for her and even go back to her old life of sin. But because Ele was graduating that month, she made adequate arrangements for Tina to meet with Kemi who was now to disciple her. This arrangement worked perfectly.

First, Tina didn’t really like Kemi because she felt Kemi was judgmental, but she later realized that Kemi was also a very loving and understanding person.

Kemi started off by giving Tina some faith building books that she followed up to see that Tina read. She would make Tina discuss what she had learned, and attempt to answer her questions. Tina had many questions.

Kemi showed Tina from the word of God that she could not continue to be so close to her friends who were unbelievers, this was very difficult for Tina, but Kemi didn’t leave her alone in this, she introduced Tina to other Christian sisters, and they all ended up being very close friends.

Kemi was the one who laid hands on Tina and got her baptized in the Holy Spirit. She encouraged Tina to pray in the Spirit regularly and taught her how to live a life of fellowship with the Spirit. Kemi and Tina would go for evangelism, and after some time, Tina too became somebody’s discipler.

Go into today remembering that when the seed of God’s word is planted, there is a need for it to be watered. Discipleship is the way this happens (see 1 Cor 3:6).
