Rev 2:21-24 [NET]
1 I have given her time to repent, but she is not willing to repent of her sexual immorality. 22 Look! I am throwing her onto a bed of violent illness, and those who commit adultery with her into terrible suffering, unless they repent of her deeds. 23 Furthermore, I will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve.

This is a word from the Lord for 2017 concerning those who have believed and taught certain doctrines that have made saints become lascivious, and many have fallen into diverse sins because of these doctrines.

In 2017, The Lord will judge the teachers and followers of these doctrines that have caused many in His church to stumble.

Jesus has given them a chance to repent, and there is still chance now. But if they do not repent, what comes next is judgment [similar to that announced in today’s Bible text].

False doctrine is usually introduced to the body by those who have attained a certain level of authority and honor in the church. But when false doctrine comes in, it ultimately produces destruction.

One of the ways false doctrine is identified is by its fruit of destruction. It always leaves destruction in its wake, and its victims are always marred by it. Please don’t be a victim (see 1 John 3:7-9).

Go into today asking the Holy Spirit to show you every area of error in your life. This beginning part of the year is a good season to seek the face of the Lord.
