BOLDNESS AND POWER 2

Prov 28:1 [NASB]
The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion.

When Doyin left his brother-in-law’s house, he felt bad because he could not minister to their sick child. He also knew that the way he felt guilty about something he had repented from was not the will of God. He decided to spend the rest of the day with the Lord and renew his strength. He spent the rest of the day praying and listening to God’s word.

There is nothing that drains spiritual power like guilt and sin consciousness. Sin attempts to create separation between us and God, and our strength comes from our union and fellowship with God.

Spending time with God is the key to renewing your [spiritual] strength. The more we spend time with the Lord, the more we grow in His grace [and power]. Grace is multiplied through the knowledge of the Lord (2 Pet 1:2)

Do not forget that the reason Jesus came was to take away the sin of the world (see John 1:29). His coming made it possible for anyone that comes to God through Him to have access to the Father. Sin is spiritual, it is separation from God [the source of spiritual life], and it produces death. The physical manifestation of this separation is disobedience.

The fruit of the knowledge of good and evil made it possible for humans to think they can live without God. It makes it possible for man to separate himself from God. Separation from God is spiritual death. Spiritual death is a process whose initial stage is manifested as sin.

Go into today knowing that our access to God is through [the righteousness of] Christ, not through us. Our boldness should come from our access to God through Christ.
