THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD

Psalms 27:13
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. [KJV]

DEVOTIONAL AUDIO VERSION: http://bit.ly/1PNLCSN

The psalmist knew something. He knew that God is always good to him regardless of his current circumstances. Even though at times, because of his sin or ignorance, David found himself in very tough situations that would have made him given up on life, he refused to faint because he knew he was going to see the salvation of the Lord. And here is my best part; he knew he was going to see the salvation of the Lord in the land of the living. He said ‘the land of the living’ to make it clear that he expected to experience God’s salvation and goodness in this life on earth and not only in the life to come.

David’s expectation was not dashed. He died in the palace and fulfilled his destiny (see Acts 13:36). David is still revered today as one of the most powerful kings in all of History.

God’s word to you today is that you will see the goodness of the Lord in the Land of the living.

“For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right”- Psalm 84:11. Also read Matt 7:11.

Go into today believing and trusting that the Lord will bring great good your way because you belong to Him and trust in Him.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for everything you have done for me. I ask that you give me the grace to absolutely trust in you and always do what is right. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
